Not great, but it has its moments. The story is a bit convoluted at times. The narrator is decent.
The wonderful fun and adventure continues in yet another installment of the ladies at the #1 LDA. Like visiting with your best friends and hearing all the latest gossip, one can never get enough of these characters and the world they inhabit.
Jack Kornfield is a great speaker who mixes inspiration with entertainment. His stories offer great insights and sneak peeks into the lives and thoughts of great teachers. A joy-filled listen.
I *heart* Brandon Sanderson's long, long, long epic stories. I will literally sit in the car once I've arrived someplace to keep listening, or take long walks and just keep walking. The massive worlds are filled with memorable characters and fun plot twists. I wish he would WRITE FASTER!
Christopher Moore is just plain awesome, and this book is no exception. It is in the more fragrant vein of writing (lots of F bomb), as it is a continuation of Fool. The plot is fun. There's always the mysterious "creature" and lots of snort-coke-out-of-your-nose humor. Love, love, love.
The author has a wonderful command of the poet's work and a great voice. You are swept away by both. I have a much better sense of Rilke after this.
I love this series. The characters are fun and interesting. The plot twists enjoyable. I can almost imagine the author sitting in his writing room, giggling.
I always enjoy Whyte's work, but this book speaks most eloquently to the trials and tribulations of being a creative soul in the world. As a writer finding my own voice, I always turn to him when I need to illuminate my own map. He does not tell me where to go per se, only that he (as well so many others) has been in that darkness on his own path and I should not despair. That, in fact, I am exactly where I need to be.
I've always been a Guy Gavriel Kay fan, but this is by far his best work yet. And the narrator was perfect. This was one of those books I didn't want to end.
I sat next to Mr. Rollins at a conference a few years ago and was surprised at his mild mannered shyness, considering the crazy adventures he captures on the page. This book is no exception. A great story and a great narrator!
I picked this up on a whim and was so surprised at how great it was. The story and characters are fabulous. The writer has a wonderful, literary turn of phrase and captures the essence of the worlds very well. The narrator is incredibly good and keeps you completely engaged. A must for your library!
