This was by far one of the best audible titles that I have listened to. The Characters are so real and unforgettable. The Narration just pulls you right into their lives.
Story has been done to death, but often even knowing that...the narrator can draw you in and make it somewhat enjoyable. However, this misses on both levels. I could not go past 30 minutes.
One of the classics
I love Elizabeth Gaskell's writing and style. This Narrator was so poor I could not get past 15 minutes of it. Waste.
insightful, innovative author
She is just plain awful. Her voice quality is really bad. Her voice is so hard and raspy. I don't understand why she is narrating so many of these wonderful works.
I loved this title, like I love all of Georgette Heyer's books. However, somthing is not right here...the book just shuts off. I am sure it does not end this way. Audible please check this recording out....it has a problem
I really like this title. I smiled a lot while listening. I like Georgette Heyer. This is my second title by this writer, and I was not dissappointed. Clifford Norgate brings the characters right to you. Excellent.
Great Story, Awesome narrator equals fabulous audible experience. I really liked this story. The narration is a 10+. She does every voice so well, you can actually see the characters. She does the male voices fabulously, and not wimpy like I have heard on many occassions. Worth the read. I actually went to look for other combinations of this writer and this narrator.
I really enjoyed this story. The characters are rich with personality. The story just plays so well. Marion Keyes is always right on point.
Why was this author allowed to do the narration? Couldn't someone have advised against it. But seriously, when the author played it back for critique why???? Why? This was just bad, and bad on a whole other level. You can't even hear the book- you can't get past the spoken word! All the effort of writing a book to just kill it with the need (and yes the audacity) to be the narrator.
"That Camden Summer" one reviewer said "and I wished it had gone on for 20 more hours" That is exactly how I felt about this selection. The audio does not have as much quality as Iam use to..(probably done a while ago)- but the story more than makes up for it. After a while the only thing I paid any attention to was this wonderful story. You want to read this one.
I will watch for this author as I would like to experience more from her. This story is told so well and you just want to keep listening. I really enjoyed Deja View. It has everything, you laugh you cry, and you root for characters in this one.
