I have found many of the Paranormal books to be Good stories with a number of unneeded sex sceens thrown in. This book was the other way around. One long bad sex sceen with a little bit of story thrown in.
Very little to endear the characaters to the reader. No in depth personalities. How can one have romance without a personality?
There's quite a bit of decent paranormal stuff out there (Molly Harper, Charlaine Harris, MaryJanice Davidson, ...). Use your credits for those ....
Another great installment in the series. Much of the humor is similar to te earlier books, but good story telling so it continues to amuse.
As with the first two books this one does not disappoint. Fun book, fun series.
Does not disappoint. This installment keeps the story alive, is very different from the first book, and is just fun.
I've just finished all 3 books. Overall a nice little series. Most certainly YA (even though it glorifies some behaviors that it should avoid). Good way to spend a few hours.
Not politically correct, but just good story telling. My biggest question was why Quatermain was included in the league of extraordinary Gentlemen. Maybe there's something in a later story.
The ending was not totally unexpected but was good none the less. Nicely wrapped up.
This first installment was good enough I suppose, a bit fragmented here and there, and the story was a little fragmented. After listening to this first book I wasn't going to continue with the series, however I picked up the second book in the sale and it was much better.
I like the second book a little bit better than the first. At times it was a bit repetitive with house rules another relationship issues. However, good storytelling with a nice pace and kept my interest.
Very good, very funny, a bit more subtle than Hitchhikers guide. However, to get some of the jokes I think you have to have lived through the 60s. Most of the book can be fully understood by modern readers, but some of the jokes are starting to age.
Very interesting subject matter. The interrelationships between many of the scientists of that age make for an interesting study. However, this book is a little fragmented and often repetitive. Some of the other historical medical novels I've read are much better reads.
