"Colin Firth makes the story"
The story would seem a bit long and drawn out if it weren't for the melodic reading by Colin Firth. He brought the story to life and made it delightful to listen to.
"Reliving history"
This biography of James Madison reminds us that politics has not changed much in the 200 plus years of our existence. The story reads more like a story than a collection of facts.
"Typically enjoyable Poirot"
This was a classic Poirot story with an engaging plot. I did not suspect who the murderer was until Poirot gathered everyone together to unraveled the clues. I had carefully considered the clues and accused the wrong character.
I loved that Hugh Fraser, who played Hastings in several Poirot movies, read the story. He met the demands of each character's personality.
"Historical Adventure"
I am not a naval buff or generally interested in naval history, but this story was full of adventure and a good historical look at life at the turn of the 20th century. My husband is a Cussler fan, so I decided to try it. We listened to it together on a long road trip and I was totally absored in the story. If you are interested in fast action, naval vessels, spy tactics, and 'manly men', you will like this story.
