I love books and love to get lost in the fantasy. I'm always looking for a new good story to bury myself in. :)

Some things are so worth waiting for. Like the moment when Jessica Ward "accidentally" bumps into Bobby Ray Smith and shows him just how far she's come since high school. Back then, Jess's gangly limbs and bruised heart turned to jelly any time Smitty's "all the better to ravish you with" body came near her. So, some things haven't changed. Except now Jess is a success on her own terms. And she can enjoy a romp - or 20 -with a big, bad wolf and walk away. Easy.

This was a really good story. I liked Jessica (Jess) and Smitty is great if a bit clueless. I was very happy to see Smitty get his own book.

Jess is a African Wild Dog shifter. She grew up around the Smith pack as an orphan and got beat up and picked on mercilessly. Most of it by Smitty's sister and her friends. Smitty always tried to protect her from that but his protection ended when he left for the Navy. She had a tough life but made a lot out of it. When she next meets Smitty, she's the CEO of a big company and has grown up from the girl he used to protect.

Bobby Ray Smith (aka Smitty) is a good guy but for a wolf shifter he's a total dog. He's looking for his next conquest when he meets Jess again. He's astounded when she only seems to remember him vaguely and pretty much blows him off. Smitty can't believe that sweet little Jess doesn't remember him and their friendship. Smitty isn't one to back down from a challenge and he wants to see Jess again so he decides to push his way back in to her life.

Jess isn't thrilled to have Smitty pushing his way back in to her life. She's still attracted to him after all these years but she also put up with hell at his sister's hands after he left. She honestly doesn't know if she can trust him and tries pushing him away again and again. Fortunately wolf shifters tend to have selective hearing and Smitty disregards her protests and eventually manages to get her to let him back in. Their relationship is halting as Jess still doesn't think she could get what she needs from Smitty and Smitty doesn't realize what he really wants from Jess. It's fun as well as frustrating seeing them try to get their relationship working.

Issues from the past have to be handled, as well as dealing with each other's packs and family issues that come up. Things are far from boring and we have plenty of interaction with secondary characters that are from previous books. There is also an influx of new characters in the form of Jess' pack (loved her pack...great group) and some of the Smith family (Smitty's Mom and Pop are great at the end of the story). I have to say that Smitty's Mom certainly helped with a little well placed advice for Jess when her and Smitty were at a stumbling block that made me want to reach through my Kindle and slap them...thank goodness for interfering family! Once they get past that stumble the ending of the book is great.

This was a really good book. I really enjoyed seeing Smitty and Jess get together (I was rooting for Jess the whole time) and was very happy with their ending. I'll be looking forward to the next book in the series. I'd recommend this one. Thumbs up!

Nevada Baylor is faced with the most challenging case of her detective career - a suicide mission to bring in a suspect in a volatile situation. Nevada isn't sure she has the chops. Her quarry is a Prime, the highest rank of magic user, who can set anyone and anything on fire. Then she's kidnapped by Connor "Mad" Rogan - a darkly tempting billionaire with equally devastating powers.

This was a really good start to a new series. I liked Nevada and found her to be an interesting character. Mad Rogan is rather hard to love since he's very self centered and doesn't show much interest in the welfare of others when performing the tasks her feels need done but he grows on you... :)

This story takes place in a universe that's similar to our Earth but has magic. A century or so ago, someone came up with a potion that released the magical abilities in people. By the time people realized that this could be dangerous, too many people had taken it to stop the spread through the descendants off the people with magic. Magic became a trait to breed for and people were married and had kids in order to propagate talent instead of for love. Now days, the strongest magical families are known as houses and they wield a lot of power.

Nevada is the head of her family's investigation firm. Her father died and her family mostly cant take part in full time investigation because of age or infirmity or because they're too young. Mostly they do fine though because they take small cases involving insurance fraud and divorces, nothing that should cause too much danger. Nevada has never developed her magical talent and most people think she's a dud. She can tell when people are telling the truth but didn't want to be forced to be an interrogator.

Mad Rogan is a magical Prime (the highest ranking) and even in that ranking he's considered high on the powerful scale. He joined with the Army when he left school and he killed a lot of people and did a lot of things he doesn't like to think about. He hates his family and now that he's out of the Army he stays closed off and is rarely seen.

Rogan gets begged by a cousin that he used to care for to help her son, Gavin, who got caught up with a trouble making pyrotechnic Prime (named Adam) from a big house and is now in trouble. Rogan agrees to go try to get Gavin and take him in to the police so he doesn't get killed while being taken in. Around this time, Adam's family is tired of him causing trouble and asks a security company they know to see about bringing Adam in. That company owns Nevada's company and basically sends her to get Adam (even though it's a suicide mission) and gives her no real choice about the matter. Nevada gets a hold of Adam and knowing she can't force him to come in, she tries to convince him it's in his best interest to be brought it. Adam's not really interested but takes an interest in Nevada which gives her hope she might be able to talk him around.

Rogan comes in to the picture when he tracks some of the same leads as Nevada and finds her on Adam's trail. The problem is he thinks Nevada might be a friend of Adam's. Rogan believes that Nevada knows where Adam is so their first encounter doesn't go very well at all and after that first meeting, Nevada wants nothing to do with Rogan. Rogan realizes she's his only chance to track Adam though and isn't about to let her evade him. She resists working with Rogan because he makes his disinterest in the welfare of others very clear from the start but Nevada soon realizes she had no chance of bringing Adam in without some help and Rogan is powerful enough to do what she needs. They strike a deal to work together and Rogan will find out where his cousin is and he'll help deliver Adam to his house to fulfill her duties. It's interesting to see them working together. Nevada has a definite moral compass and sometime she has to push Rogan not to cross certain lines. Even though most people fear him, Nevada also isn't afraid to say what need to be said and enforcing certain points, forcibly if needed. The romance starts very slowly between the 2. They start out adversarial and slowly grow their relationship to something better. It's not perfect by the end though and they have an attraction but haven't gotten physical outside of a couple kisses. Nevada is resisting Rogan but he's determined to win her. The action plot is settled to a point but there's some lingering sub-plots that seems set to continue in the next book.

I really enjoyed this story. Nevada is a heroine I liked and I can't think of any real complaints about her. Rogan was compelling to begin with and I liked him more as the story continued. Now I really like him and I can't wait for the next book because I want to see Rogan win Nevada. Overall this was a very enjoyable story with an interesting plot that was very engaging. I'd recommend this story. Thumbs up. :D

Sabrina can't believe her luck - she's always dreamed of front row seats to see her favorite band, "Trouble", but when she quite literally bumps into lead singer, Rob Burns, and he invites her backstage, she finds herself hoping her luck doesn't run out--and that maybe, just maybe, all her dreams will come true. This title makes the ultimate fantasy come true when a female fan meets a sexy rock star guitar god with enough pluck to make the g-string on your Stratocaster quiver for days.

This was a pretty good story. I liked Sabrina and Rob and their story was well written and enjoyable. This is the first story I've read by this author and I liked it well enough I'll probably read more of her work in the future. This story is part of a serial romance and I some how missed this and started reading before I realized it. While I was a bit frustrated knowing it would end in a cliffy, it wasn't actually too bad and I was alright with how it left off.

Sabrina is a grade school music teacher that lives in Detroit, MI. She's the daughter of a police man and a teacher and grew up in a loving but practical household. She has a beautiful voice but didn't follow her dreams of becoming a singer due to her practical upbringing.

Rob is the lead singer of a rock band named Trouble. The band is very popular and Rob is doing well. Rob grew up in Foster care and isn't in contact with his family. He's married but is separated from his wife.

Sabrina and her friend go to see Trouble in concert when they come to Detroit on tour. They get turned around and end up at the wrong door. Just when they're figuring they'll have to find another door, it slams open and bangs Sabrina in the head. Rob and another band mate come out and when the door falls closed again all 4 are locked out of the concert venue. Rob saves Sabrina from falling down a flight of stairs and fusses over her bump on the head (from the door) and Sabrina is just shocked to be meeting Rob. When they do finally get in the door, Rob gets Sabrina backstage passes and promises to see her after the show. Sabrina doesn't know why she's getting this attention from Rob and thinks maybe it's because he's worried about her suing him for hitting her with the door.

After the concert, Rob finds Sabrina and soon they take off together to hit a blues club. Rob works on convincing her that he likes her and wants to be with her and they decide to enjoy each other's company. They have a great night together and don;'t want it to end so they decide to spend the next day together since the tour isn't moving on until the day after. As Rob and Sabrina spend the time together, it becomes obvious that they have a lot in common and a lot of the same likes and dislikes. They talk about their pasts and truly start to get to know each other. There is sort of an insta-love situation because by the end they've both fallen for each other. There's some drama about how things will end because she can't go with him and he can't stay but it ends in a HFN with them planning to be together once the tour ends.

This was a pretty enjoyable story. I liked both Sabrina and Rob and wanted to see them together. The plot was pretty normal for this type of story but yet it's very well written and was more then just sex, you could see Rob and Sabrina connect as they talked and spent time together. My only frustration with the story was it ending in a cliffy (and that was my own fault for not realizing that before I started) but even the way it ended wasn't a bad cliffy so it wasn't as bad as I expected. I may read more of the serial in the future. I'd recommend it (if your ok with it being a serial with a mild cliffy ending). :D

This was a great story. I have loved Janvier and Ash's almost relationship for a while and have been rooting for them to get together so I was very happy to see that Singh decided to finally address them seriously.

This story takes place a few months after the battle in Archangel's Legion. The city is recovering and Elena and Raphael are doing good at leading their people. Ash was injured in the fighting and is mostly recovered and is trying to keep Janvier at arms length...something that she wasn't able to do as well as she'd have liked while she was injured. Ash gets sent on a job for the guild that starts out as nothing but ends up being the start in something bigger, something that could end up being a danger to the city. Janvier is working for the tower and ends up helping her with the investigation. This pushes Ash and Janvier closer and there's some drama as they both try to work past the issues that are keeping them apart. Ash is convinced that issues she has are too much to get past but Janvier is determined not to live without Ash in his life. Ash does have some valid reasons for her reluctance and I really liked how Singh was able to work things out.

I really loved getting to see how things are progressing for everyone and getting glimpses into their lives. It was fun to see Elena starting to settle in to her place as Raphael's consort. The action plot was interesting and kept me wondering how the pieces fit together. It was well balanced by the romance between Janvier and Ash and the brief explorations into the lives of the other main characters. I especially liked the additional exploration into Naasir and I'm kind of hoping the next book is his (although I'm open on that). This was a great addition to the series and I'd recommend it (and the series). 2 thumbs up! :D

This was a very good book. Graham Reece first shows up in the book “For You” from KA’s The Burg series. I really liked what I saw of Reese in that book and have been looking forward to his book. Zara and Reece are really good together and I enjoyed their story. :D

Zara grew up in an abusive home and now has nothing to do with her family. She has made her way on her own for years and things haven’t been easy for her. She met Reece around 8 years before the current time of the book, when he happened to be working in her town for a while before he moved on. She knew he was her “one” but also knew she couldn't keep him. For 5 years he’d visit and be there for her at some points when she needed help but he’d always leave again so she ends up being forced to break things off with him and tell him she’s moving on.

Reece is a good guy but he was screwed over early in life and it made him untrusting of women. Only 2 women have broken past his barriers at all, and that’s Zara and February (the heroine from “For You”). He cared for Feb and his involvement with her for a while earned him an attack by a stalker/serial killer that was killing off past lovers. Once he recovers from his attack he starts to examine his life. He realizes he wants to find a home and build a family, so he goes after the woman he’s always known he was a fool to walk away from, Zara.

Things didn't go well for Zara after she ended things with Reese. She got married to a nice man but she was settling and knew it. She thought she loved him enough but once they were married she found she was losing herself to try to work things out with him. She had to end the marriage (for which she carried a lot of guilt) and around the same time the recession hit and financial issues came up which forced her in to a cheap but not very safe apartment and a low paying job. Reece did show up right after his attack and her divorce but neither of them was in the right state of mind at the time and they just ended up fighting. Reece leaves and gives her some space for a while but shows up again when she needs him and convinces her to move in with him (but only as a roommate) while also offering her a higher paying job. Zara still has feelings for Reece and knows it’s not a good idea (for her emotional well being if nothing else) but agrees because she’s in dire straits.

Zara and Reece are just roommates at first. They get used to each other again and become friends again but there are also fights at times as they’re both attracted to each other but not together so there’s tension. Eventually, in halting steps, Reece and Zara get together as more than just roommates. It’s not easy and their communication skills aren't the best. I’ll admit there were times when Reece didn't handle some of Zara’s issues the best but he did eventually get very good at expressing his feelings and in very sweet and meaningful ways. Zara didn't always listen very well and made some misjudgments herself but she came around and learned to trust what Reece was showing and telling her and started bringing her own goodness to the relationship.

Soon after Reece and Zara finally come together as a couple, Reece shows his supportive side to Zara as issues with her family come to light. Reece is great about helping Zara with the heavy problems she has to deal with. He is very protective of her and does what he can to lighten her load…I have to admit to falling for him a bit myself. The family issues do get sorted out and the book ends with a satisfying HEA for Zara and Reece.

This was a very good book. I really liked Reece and Zara and was happy they got their HEA especially since it was years late. This was a good addition to the series (it reminded me of book #1, The Gamble). I’d recommend this book. Thumbs up. :D

I LOVED this book! I think this may tie Sweet Dreams for my fave in this series. Both have now made it to my all time favorite books list. Chace and Faye are both great on their own and put them together and I was hooked.

Chace first showed up in Lady Luck where he was part of a dirty police department. He was trapped in a marriage to a woman he hated and no one understood why. The reasons come out but not fully until this book. In Breathe we get to find out exactly why Chace felt he had to do what he did and how he ended up going to IA to help overturn the dirty cops. Chace's wife was killed in the last book and although Chace hated her he still is trying to find her killer in this book.

Because of what he went through and what happened with Misty (his late wife) he doesn't feel clean. He feels an attraction to Faye but doesn't feel he can ever deserve someone as sweet and clean as her after the muck he was swimming in for years. Trying to push her away, Chace has a couple bouts of relationship dumbassedness and hurts Faye but (as with most Alpha male type heroes) eventually he realizes he can't fight the attraction and goes after her.

Faye is awesome! She's shy and reads a lot but she's also sweet while still having a backbone when required. She's also a total geek (which I love because I'm a geek and I totally got what she was talking about)! There are many convos about things like Star Wars (I loved the "who shot first" convo!), Battlestar Galactica (Faye says Frak all the time), Joss Whedon (and a possible nomination for his sainthood) and his shows, as well as many other fun geeky subjects.

Faye started crushing on Chace when she first saw him at the age of 16 and it carried on to current time (even through the mess with him and Misty). She doesn't think he's attracted to her though (although she was told he is) and she's trying to find some way to get his attention when the book starts. Advice from a couple different friends goes badly at the beginning and she's convinced that he doesn't like her at all. Fortunately at this point, Chace screws his head on straight and decides to stop fighting things.

I really enjoyed seeing Chace and Faye start to date and them getting to know each other. It was cool and sweet and I was so happy for both of them. I was even happier when Chace finally spills his whole story for Faye so she can help him through it. Faye finds a homeless boy she wants to help and her and Chace end up working on that together. I loved that part of the story line and loved how it resolved at the end of the book. There was also more movement from the powerful people that the dirty police chief had been blackmailing. This causes some issues for Faye and Chace but (not to ruin any details) this plot line also had a satisfying conclusion in the end.

There were many, many funny parts in this book (loved Twyla and Krys giving Faye relationship advice and that's just one of the funny scenes) but there were also many touching parts in this book (I did use a few tissues). This was a wonderful book that I just loved and I can't wait for the next in the series to come out (it's a great series!). I'd highly recommend this book. 2 thumbs way up! :D

This was a great story! I really loved Ty and Lexie, they're such a great pair that I was rooting for them from pretty much the beginning.

Lexie is a great female lead. I think she ties Lauren (from Sweet Dreams) for my favorite KA leading lady so far. She's sweet, sassy and a total goof...a very fun leading lady. Her humor and sweetness are even more surprising when you find out the bad that's plagued her most of her life. One of the bad things in her life was an unfortunate and unwanted relationship to a bad guy named Shift. In an interest of staying on his good side Lexie agreed to do him a favor, which she believes is picking a guy up from prison and taking him where he wants to go. This is how she meets Ty and it ends up there's a little more to the arrangement than just a ride.

Ty is a cool leading man and I thought he was great. It didn't hurt that I've heard KA said she pictured Ty looking like Dwayne Johnson so I had that picture in my mind throughout the story. :D Ty's been through a lot in his life, the most recent of which was being falsely imprisoned for 5 years. At first he's very closed up and doesn't trust easily which is understandable. He arranges for some help once he gets out of prison and through this ends up meeting Lexie. He manages to get her to agree to an arrangement where she'll stay with him and help him with his plans.

Although they start out as business, pretty soon Ty and Lexie are starting to feel things for each other. Ty has the hardest time with this because of his trust issues but it's really cool to see Lexie pull him out of his shell and Ty start to open up and live again. Unfortunately Ty suffers from a couple of bouts of relationship dumbassedness and things aren't always smooth but KA did a great job growing their relationship and dealing with both of their demons from the past. Once they got on the same page I really loved the couple that Ty and Lexie became.

There is a secondary plot line with the work that's being done trying to clear Ty's name and issues with dirty cops that don't want to truth to come out. Very cool (if a bit traumatic) end to the story and it sets up for the next book so I'll be reading that right away. :D

Great story with a great couple. I love the whole series. I"ll be rereading this in the future. I"d recommend it. 2 thumbs up! :D

She knows she's in deep shit. A tall, handsome werewolf rescues her then demands payment. Hot, sweaty, intimate payment. Grady is a half breed whose human mother abandoned him to his werewolf father, so he knows human women just aren't safe to fall in love with. *** warning, this review might be a bit spoilerish****

I had mixed feelings about this story. It was well written and was alright but I had issues with the conflicts and the ways they were handled. Grady seemed iffy through most of the story and Mika was put in impossible situations that just made me feel bad for her. There is some insta-love going for those that don't like that sort of thing.

Mika lives in California and has a life but nothing is really holding her there. She has an uncle Omar that is a werewolf shifter and she goes back to her home town to visit him regularly. She's thought of moving back to be closer to him but he wants her to marry a human and thinks it's too dangerous for her to live there full time.

Grady is the first born of the pack Alpha in a wolf shifter pack. His mother was human and wasn't with his father when she started raising Grady. When he started showing signs of being a werewolf as a kid, Grady's mom found his dad and dropped Grady on his dad's doorstep. Unfortunately, Grady's dad's mate is a horrible woman who looked down on Grady because he was half human and wouldn't allow him to be taken in. Grady was raised by a number of families in the pack instead. Now he's known for staying away from humans except for the occasional one night stand.

Mika comes to town to visit for a couple weeks, She knows about shifters but her uncle doesn't bother to tell her that it's mating season (a time she's never visited before). This means that there are many strange werewolves in the area looking for sex and they're not all very picky about who they get it from. Humans are supposed to be off limits but not all the visitors follow the same rules. So Mika is in town and craving some chocolate so she goes for a stroll to the store and gets dragged in to an alley by 4 werewolves. She screams as they're trying to start a gang rape and before too long, Grady comes along and saves her. He then proceeds to come looking for some repayment (but they don't actually have sex). Mika is rather embarrassed by the whole thing (and was rather turned on by Grady) so she doesn't say anything to her aunt or uncle about the incident. Omar does finally realize that Mika needs guarded against the strange wolves in town and decides to draft one of the best enforcers in the pack, Grady.

So as her guard, Grady is staying with Mika 24/7 but pretty much treating her like crap and barely talking to her. She's pretty much locked in the house so she pushes to go out. They go to Grady's bar which is supposed to be safe ground but Mika almost gets abducted by a strange shifter right there in the bar and in order to save her from a horrible fate, Grady is forced to lay claim to her. Uncle Omar isn't happy about it but the way it happens means they have to have sex (during the rest of the mating season) or Grady will go crazy. Mika's Uncle basically gives her to Grady to have sex with for the next 2 weeks. Mika isn't all that happy about it at first but she was already attracted to Grady and figures she'll go along with it. Grady makes it very clear that he doesn't want a human mate so Mika knows she's headed for trouble when she realizes that she's fallen for Grady within the first couple days. Then she's pretty much plagued with life being horrible because Grady is constantly showing her that she's not what he wants and it hurts her. Grady is so clueless that he doesn't realize what the heck is going on or that his actions are hurtful. This pretty much continues until the end and then was have a whiplash turnaround and Grady and Mika get their HEA.

To be honest, the way the story went just didn't work for me, probably because I'm not in to the constant drama. The forced situations and frequent ups and downs (but mostly downs) wasn't really my thing so I had trouble getting fully in to the story. I liked Mika and wished for her to get her happiness but I was less than convinced that Grady would be the one to give it to her (at least until the last 5% of the book). I can see someone liking this story that was more in to the forced situations and big drama. I may try the next book in the series as I've heard it's better than this one and I do like the author. :D

Zoey Stranford might've had a crush on the sexy boy next door since middle school, but she's a woman now, and that crush has turned into a full-blown case of lust. So why is it that at twenty-nine her libido decides to ramp into high gear, making her only focus the intensely sexy, scorching hot boy next door - who is definitely not a boy anymore? The problem is, Zoey and Kaleb have been best friends for as long as she can remember.

This was a very good story. I liked both Zoey and Kaleb and their story was very interesting and I enjoyed it. I’m not sure why people term this as BDSM though because there’s anal, ménage and a bit of spanking but outside of that there’s nothing overly kinky and it's not what I'd term as BDSM. This is the first story I've read by this author and based on this I'm likely to read more of her work in the future.

Zoey is a nice young woman who takes care of her aging father. She had been married but her husband wasn't the best man (he cheated on her) and when they split she wasn't all that anxious to try again. Zoey’s mother died and her dad is getting on the senile side so she lives in the guest house to look after him. She also has a cleaning business with her BFF that’s going well and gaining business.

Kaleb is one of seven brothers that are very close. Kaleb and his brothers all still live on the family property (in their own places) and work together in a demolition business. They've recently decided to expand into construction and have decided to open a resort as their first endeavor. Kaleb and his brothers are known for being man-whores and being rather outrageous in their sexual behaviors, even to the point of sharing their women (although usually just short term).

Zoey and Kaleb have been best friends for years, ever since they were kids. They spend a lot of time together and regularly go out but only as friends. Kaleb and Zoey have both been attracted to each other since they were young but they've both pulled back from anything more wanting to keep their friendship intact. When the story begins, Kaleb is trying to get Zoey's dad to sell 100 acres of his land to Kaleb and his brothers to use for the resort. Zoey's dad is reluctant though and Kaleb is having problems convincing him to proceed with things and it’s been 6 months. Kaleb has discussed the property sale with Zoey before but hasn't asked her to intervene, not wanting to make her uncomfortable or make her feel like he’s trying to use her to get to her dad. It’s about this time that Kaleb’s attraction for Zoey seems to spike out of the tight control he’s always kept on it and now he’s having problems not pursuing her. Zoey has always been attracted to Kaleb and when Kaleb seems more interested than normal then she starts to wonder if maybe something can happen between them. After a bit of a stumbling start, Kaleb and Zoey decide to try starting something together. Kaleb actually is interested in something serious with Zoey but she (I think believing that Kaleb couldn't want anything more) thinks they’re just doing a “friends with benefits” relationship.

Zoey and Kaleb explore their new relationship but mostly keep things light as they start. Kaleb is still talking to Zoey’s dad about the land but she stays out of it for the most part. Things get more difficult though as the depth of the financial difficulties that Zoey's dad is in becomes apparent and a misunderstanding almost causes a split between them. They manage to recover from that and things go deeper for them, both of them developing more feelings for each other (although Zoey continues to be in denial). At first, Kaleb tries to hold back with Zoey, thinking she’s too sweet to indulge in his more dirty sexual proclivities. Zoey isn't ready to be so sedate though and pushes him to go further with her and he’s surprised when he loses control and she enjoys what happens. After that Zoey and Kaleb’s sexual exploits go further and get more adventuresome and both are happy with how things unfold. Things go better for them and they cruise that way for a while. Unfortunately, things get a bit rough again when multiple instances of drama come up to cause issues for them. They get past things well though and I liked the way things worked out in the end, both with the business deal and the relationship, as Zoey and Kaleb start their HEA.

This was a very enjoyable story. I liked both Kaleb and Zoey very much and was rooting for them realize just how perfect they are for each other. Overall, this was a very enjoyable and sexy story and I'm looking forward to reading the books for the rest of the brothers. I’d recommend this book. :D

    * note - I listened to the audio version of this book and the narrators did a very good job. There were 2 narrators, a female for the parts in Zoey's PoV and a male for the parts in Kaleb's PoV. I did feel it was slightly slow though and played it back at the 1.25% speed.

This was a very story. I liked Zane and Beth and their story was action packed and engaging, keeping me on the edge of my seat until the end. This was the first book I've read by this author and I liked it well enough I'm likely to try more of her work in the future.

Beth works for the engineering department for PAA (Pac Atlantic Airlines). She grew up with a single mother who worked herself to the bone until she died of cancer (fueling her initial distrust of men). Beth found a further reasons to distrust men when she found her fiancée sleeping with another woman. Now she won't trust any man further than a few dates and cuts anything off that might last longer out of fear. Beth is normally not psychic but she’s been having nightmares about a plane hijacking for the last 3 nights in a row.

Zane is a SEAL and a good man. He has psychic flashes that help him do his job and his teammates have learned to trust his instincts. Psychic ability is something that runs in Zane’s family and the men in his family have a destined mate. No other woman will do and the men in his family don’t have much interest in women until their “one” shows up. Zane and 2 of his teammates are in the Seattle airport waiting to fly to Hawaii for a wedding when Zane gets some flashes indicating there’s going to be a problem on the flight.

In Beth’s nightmares, she sees things from the beginning of the day, before the hijacking actually starts in her dream. When things start taking place that happened in the beginning of the dream, Beth realizes that her dream is going to come true that day. She tries to ignore this and goes to work but realizes she can't ignore her feeling that the hijacking will take place. She (as an employee) is able to fly for free so Beth gets herself put on the passenger list of the flight in question so she can go to the loading gate and check for the men she saw hijack the plane in her dream. She doesn't see the hijackers but she does see 3 military men that she saw killed in the dream, Zane and his 2 buddies. Zane realized as soon as Beth walked in that she was his “one” but he’s also gotten some flashes that make him realize that there will be issues on the plane so he doesn't feel he has time to talk to Beth right now and figures he'll have to track her down later. Beth however, knows that the men are military and hopes that if she can convince them of the coming hijacking that they can call someone “official” to handle the issue. When Beth approaches Zane, she surprised at how quickly he and his buddies believe her, even with her being able to tell them things she shouldn't know (from her dream).

Once they're all working together, Beth, Zane and his buddies are able to stop the plane taking off but unfortunately the head bad guy that’s organizing everything has people in high places under his thumb and the officials aren't able to capture all the bad guys. It soon becomes apparent that the conspiracy goes much further than they first expected and the bad guys that are still loose could be a danger to them. This means that they all have to stick together and try to figure out the real reason for the attempt at a hijacking. While all this is going on, Beth and Zane interact and Zane tries to gain her interest. Unfortunately, while Zane is drawn to Beth as his “one” she doesn't feel the same draw to him right away. Beth also has a lot of distrust of men and passion that burns fast and burns out quickly, leaving her with nothing afterwards. Zane’s boss lets out information about Zane’s families’ need to find their “one” (aka soulmate) and that freaks Beth all the hell out and just puts her more on the defense against anything with Zane. There is lots of action going on and while everything is going on Beth does start to realize that Zane is a good man and starts to feel something for him but she’s still has trouble trusting him. I got frustrated with Beth at times (I hate it when the MCs let fear make them stupid) and was thankful when she came to her senses. There are plenty of tough and dangerous times that they have to get through but they do without too many issues. Beth and Zane end the story together (beginning their HEA) but the action storyline isn't complete and ends in somewhat of a cliffhanger.

I enjoyed this story very much. I liked Zane a lot and I liked Beth very much as well. I had no complaints about Zane and the only complaints I had about Beth I've already made (her letting fear make her stupid). I will note that the story did seem heavier on the action side than the romance but both did play an important part in the story. Overall this was a very good story and I'm looking forward to finding out what happens in book #2. I'd recommend this book. :D

Plagued by a rash of mysterious phone calls, she turns to her brother's best friends and fellow officers for protection...and comfort. Spending time in close contact with Mason and Tyler, the two men she's dreamed of since her first girlhood crush, seems like the answer to a prayer. Especially when they begin to explore the desire she's harbored for so long.

This was a pretty good story. I liked Lacey, Tyler and Mason and their story was interesting with a lot of sex.

Lacey is a nurse and a nice woman. She was living with her brother who was a police officer, as they were very close since their parents died years before. When Lacey finds out about her brother's death she doesn't take it well. She's been in love with his 2 BFFs, Mason and Tyler, since they were all kids but they've never responded to any of her attempts to be with them.

Mason and Tyler grew up together and have always been close. They also have had a tendency to share women ever since they first started noticing women. They've been attracted to Lacey since she was way too young for that type of attention but stayed away from her when she got older. Partially this was because her brother warned them off and partially because Mason had to convince himself it was alright. Mason and Tyler developed a m/m relationship over the years but have kept it strictly under wraps because Mason's afraid of the backlash their relationship might unleash.

The story begins with Lacey finding out about her brother dying and going through the funeral. She's kind of out of it and feeling very alone even with Mason and tyler there for her. After the funeral she needs some comfort and tried to get the men to be with her. They don't want to because they're sure she'll regret it later and then they'd lose her friendship as well. Lacey on the other hand, wants them both badly and is so steeped in loss that she can't stand for Tyler and Mason to leave her. Things get a bit messed up because Mason is convinced that Lacey can't deal with him and Tyler being in a m/m thing together and also they tend to like BDSM play and they think it's too rough for Lacey. He doesn't believe they can make a true threesome relationship work and so is determined not even to try. This causes some drama for the three and Lacey is put through more emotional pain by all the crap before things get worked out. Eventually, Tyler and Lacey get Mason onboard but there's some definite drama before the three are solidly together.

While Lacey, Tyler and Mason are trying to work out their relationship some unusual things happen that make them think that something about Lacey's brother's death wasn't as they thought it should be. There seems to be a possibility of something more going on and they need to find out what it is. Especially when whoever is causing the issues seems to be out to hurt Lacey. The men investigate and they have sex. A bit more investigating and more sex, and more sex, and more sex... To be honest, I liked the sex scenes, they were hot, but there were times when the story got so much into the sex that I forgot what the heck was happening in the action plot by the time we got back to it. But, during the many sex scenes we also get to see some growth in the threesome's relationship and enjoy them getting closer and working out some of their personal issues. I actually thought that the action plot was very good but just was overshadowed at times by the romance (sex) plot. There's some drama and unexpected danger to be dealt with before the end but the threesome manage to get through things alright and come together to start on their HEA.

This was a very enjoyable story. Lacey, Mason and Tyler were all likable characters. I got a bit frustrated with Mason's issues but I guess they were needed for the story and I'm glad they weren't drug out through the whole story. I thought the action plot was well done but overshadowed by the romance plot at some points. Overall, I thought the story was pretty good and I'll probably read more in the series down the road. I'd recommend this story. :D
