A shameless Randian fantasy. Everything good and wholesome is associated with the South, Alabama of all places. The author dismisses the states' racist states rights past as just a few bad apples and is magnanimous enough to include a mexican, a black, and a chinese hunter in the mix.

The guvmint, on the other hand, is only slightly less evil than the monsters and isn't good for anything, except in true teabagger tradition, funding the monster hunters.

Keep yer guvmint hands offa ma P.U.F.F!

Do yourself a favor and avoid this one.

My only complaint is that the books are too short. I would like to spend more time in this universe.

The book is full of gratutitous Randian attacks on the evil guvmint. While the self-righteous Alabama hillbillies represent all that is good and wholesome. MHI is one part Westboro, one part Branch Davidian, and one part Haliburton.

This book was well worth the wait. Rothfuss is the man. I'm looking forward to the further adventures of Kvothe. Keep up the good work.

When i write my first book I want it to be just like this trilogy. It has complex and interesting characters, clever dialogue, intense action, devious plots, and surprising twists. The heroes are noble but flawed. The villians are dastardly, and come to suitibly satisfying ends. The narration was excellent. I found myself laughing out loud at serveral points and I could not stop listening to it.

The final straw, it was under $10 for more than 20 hours of listening pleasure per book. In four years of being an Audible member, I have never listened to a better series of books. When the quality and length of the trilogy is combined with it's bargain price, The First Law trilogy is the best series I have listened to in four years and hundreds of books.

Hands down one of the best books I've ever listened to. I can't wait for the next book.

Well paced and engaging. Excellent narration. I'd love to see this book made into a movie in the tradition of Tolkien/Peter Jackson's LOR

With Guidalls's narration, it's sometimes hard to distinguish between characters during dialog. Muller did a much better job of capturing the different character's accents, genders, ages, and tones. I was so disappointed in this reader, I am now seriously considering not finishing the series.
