"Very Enttertaining"
I loved this audiobook. It was filled with all kinds of fun facts about Madonna and was an interesting perspective. The narration is a little boring and monotone, but the stories keep you going.
"Kevin, Bruce and Wayne"
I love Kevin Smith's sense of humor.
I loved all the behind the scenes stories.... especially the one about Bruce Willis. I too had always thought Bruce was great as David in Moonlighting and had somehow transposed his fun, witty and adorable persona onto Bruce Willis for some reason. Finding out that Bruce is squirrel turd really killed one of my self inflicted livable lies similar to that of the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy, that Bruce really was David Addison and not just some douche acting like a fun, witty adorable cool guy.
The hockey thing all makes sense now. I didn't know before. Also I like that of course Kevin Smith would work in quirky love story even here. Bravo
"Learned a lot about Health Care"
Learning more about the influence insurance companies and government have directly on your health, longevity and basic quality of life.
I found it to be informative about the basic state of health care and how we have gotten to where we are. I have to admit I know very little of health care and only recently at the age of 36 have health care for the first time in my life. I learned a lot of basics about the business, regulation and other key info if you want to understand the current state of health care in the US today.
"Great Narration"
Definitely, I would recommend this particular reading of the story to a friend because I enjoyed the reader's style, he really made the characters come alive.
So many, re-watched the movie after listening and really brought a lot more out of the story for me.
"Narration too fast"
I am a Mario Puzo fan and have "read" most of his books, I did not especially like the main narrator. It felt like he drank a pot of coffee and just started reading really fast. The character narrators were great however. I even tried to slow down my ipod, but it got weird.
Tore Guilliano of coarse.
Main narrator reads too fast, too little inflection in his voice.
Yes
Good book overall and what I expected, other narrators have done a much better job at bringing the characters and story alive with Mario Puzo's stories, I would suggest sampling before purchasing.
"I Finally Feel Normal"
I found this to be an enlightening book with very interesting case studies. Perfect length for the subject matter too.
"Fun and Delightful"
Well, as far as fun memoir types of books this ranks pretty high.
I enjoyed Mindy's story because she is fun to listen to. I have watched The Office for years and it was great to hear how she ended up there. I am also from the Boston area and it makes me feel more ambitious to hear successful stories about people close to me in age that grew up in this area of the country. I loved her honesty, wit and unapologetic sense of self.
I would have to say there were many scenes i loved but especially found it funny when she ran out of work after taking a comment too personally and came back without letting anyone know she had left. I have definitely done this and could relate. I laughed out loud a lot.
Yes
On one point I was slightly disappointed and that would be that Mindy does not understand John Cougar Mellencamp. Mindy if you read this, Jack and Diane is not a high school fantasy of jocks and cheerleaders getting it on after school,it is a gritty story about a mixed race high school relationship. Actually most of JCM songs are about racial tensions. Not trying to be annoying, just thought you would want to know.
"Good Book For Starting Over"
I am not sure, I drive a lot so prefer these types of books for driving and fiction for actual reads.
Not a character based book.
Not a scene based book.
One of the key points I will remember is that opportunity that arrives from trying to be a yes person vs a no person.
I also read Brian Tracey's "Eat That Frog". I felt this book was slightly repetitive, if I had to choose one I would have chose the other. Overall, a good listen that I will probably come back to again.
"Excellent!"
This was a great story. I thought the narrator did a great job and i still have certain words he spoke in my mind even after one year. I often found myself sitting in my car with the engine on just to hear the end of the chapter.
"Nothing Funny Here"
This book is not funny or entertaining in any way, nor is it instructional. I would not recommend this to anyone.
