"A Review"
Have read this at least 20 times since high school, college, grad school. I couldn't get past the narrator's voice. It kills me to not finish a book but this one was "ejected" after 10 painful minutes.
Warning: listen to sample before spending $$$!

VERY INTERESTING! Enjoyed the history, but I fast-forwarded through dinosaur period. Found the Middle Ages and the history of London to be wonderful. Amazing detail of mechanical & hydrological engineering. Mining, child labor, social and health consequences,
Did get a little preach-y near the end. But would recommend to another history lover!

A nice break from more serious pursuits. Has many laugh out loud moments. Recommend for any of us frustrated "cubicle dwellers".
"A Review"
Fast-paced and full of hard facts. Demonstrates how little the public knows of the scramble that is taking place as poor countries, extremists, etc., vie for the ultimate weapon and a seat at the table of power.
Tempered by how much is required to actually weaponize uranium & plutonium and conceal this from the rest of the world.
Dovetails nicely with "The Nuclear Jihadist" by Douglas Frantz and Catherine Collins. The history of AQ Khan, the Father of the Islamic Bomb.
""The Siege" - A Review"
If you enjoy connecting the dots of past incidents in the Middle East and seeing their impact on today's world...A MUST "READ"! Fast paced, easily understood. Doesn't get into mundane minutia but flies at 30,000 feet. Fanatic zealots think their guy is the Machti (the prophet the returns to save the world and purge all infidels from the lands of Islam).
To prove their point they seize the grand temple in Mecca and kill hundreds of innocents. This causes the entangling of the House of Saud, the US, other Islamic countries, and France's elite anti-terrorism squadron.
CAUTION: you may miss work sitting in the parking lot, while waiting for the end!
