A guilty liberal finally snaps, swears off plastic, goes organic, becomes a bicycle nut, turns off his power, and generally becomes a tree-hugging lunatic who tries to save the polar bears and the rest of the planet from environmental catastrophe while dragging his baby daughter and Prada-wearing, Four Seasons-loving wife along for the ride. And that's just the beginning.

Full of beautiful, heart-wrenching, and hilarious stories, A Million Miles in a Thousand Years details one man's opportunity to edit his life as if her were a character in a movie. Years after writing his best-selling memoir, Donald Miller went into a funk and spent months sleeping in and avoiding his publisher. One story had ended, and Don was unsure how to start another.

Playful Parenting means joining children in their world of play, focusing on connection and confidence, giggling and roughhousing, and following your child's lead. This audiobook is an exciting approach to raising children that will help you nurture close relationships and solve behavior problems.

    "lovely book with great ideas"
    Overall

This book has a lot of great ideas and a lot of great concepts. As a woman I found the authors perspective and the examples he relates as his experience as a child psychiatrist and play therapist hard to translate to my own relationships with the children in my life.

The basic messages are good and worth a listen.

Cold Tangerines is a collection of stories that celebrate the extraordinary moments hidden in our everyday lives. It is about God, and about life, and about the thousands of daily ways in which an awareness of God changes and infuses everything. It is about spiritual life, and about all the things that we have called nonspiritual life that might be spiritual after all.

    "Lovely collection of storeis"
    Overall

This heartwarming collection of personal stories chronicles the authors personal struggles as a woman, a friend, a sister/daughter/mother, and just as a human being.

While I wouldn't call this a self-help book it is definitely inspiring. Time and time again I found myself re-examining similar experiences from my own life and finding places I could have been more kind or more generous and often with myself as well.

It's a decent book filled with insight but the missing workbooks and all the references to their exercises made it feel like a bit of a ripoff.

The workbooks are available for sale elsewhere.

Contrary to conventional wisdom, our brains and bodies are hardwired to carry out an evolutionary mission that determines much of what we do, from life plans to everyday decisions. With an accessible tone and a healthy disregard for political correctness, this lively and eminently readable book popularizes the latest research in a cutting-edge field of study: one that turns much of what we thought we knew about human nature upside-down.
