From John Wilkes Booth to Lee Harvey Oswald, there have been more than two dozen assassination attempts on the President of the United States. Four have been successful. But now, Beecher White - the hero of the number one New York Times best seller The Inner Circle - discovers a killer in Washington, D.C. who's meticulously re-creating the crimes of these four men. Historians have branded them as four lone wolves. But what if they were wrong?

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I thought the book was for me but as it went on and on I realized that at the very end I should have kept this book on the bookshelf

What do you think your next listen will be?

I think my next book will be The Intercept by Dick Wolf

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I think Scott Brick did all he could but the book for me lacked substance

The president's son and daughter are abducted, and Detective Alex Cross is one of the first on the scene. But someone very high-up is using the FBI, Secret Service, and CIA to keep him off the case and in the dark. A deadly contagion in the water supply cripples half of the capital, and Alex discovers that someone may be about to unleash the most devastating attack the United States has ever experienced. As his window for solving both crimes narrows, Alex makes a desperate decision that goes against everything he believes....

What would have made Kill Alex Cross better?

This book had the rhythm of an abridged book - the characters did not seem well developed. This is not James Patterson's best. Why is the title Kill Alex Cross? Hmmmmm

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I thought that the cadence of the reader was wrong. In the prior books there seemed to be no rush to get to the end of the book - this reader seemed to rush through the book.

When eight-year-old Timothy Decker finds his parents brutally murdered, it's clear the Deckers weren't the intended victims: Timothy's own room---ransacked, all traces of his existence expertly obliterated---is the shocking evidence. Timothy's nanny, Mona, is certain about only one thing. Timmy needs to disappear, fast. Only Jane Whitefield, a Native American "guide" who specializes in making victims vanish, can lead him to safety.

Once again Jane Whitefield is at her best. Thomas Perry has a winner, there is no more attractive character than Jane Whitefield

When CIA "fixer" Micah Dalton's friend and mentor turns up dead, he's put on a collision course with a killer who has a penchant for intricate knife-work and Native American mysticism, a sadist who is killing ex-CIA agents. The victims are hard-nosed field men whose only link to one another seems to be a global surveillance operation called Echelon. The murders appear to be acts of retribution. But for what?

    Carmela08 says: "Excellent spy tale"

So I took a chance with this book like I do with most of the books I order - this time I chose badly, this was one of the most confusing books I have ever purchased
