James Conaway's remarkable bestseller delves into the heart of California's lush and verdant Napa Valley, also known as America's Eden. Long the source of succulent grapes and singular wines, this region is also the setting for the remarkable true saga of the personalities behind the winemaking empires. This is the story of Gallos and Mondavis, of fortunes made and lost, of dynasties and destinies.

"Very interesting story of the progress of Napa"
    Overall

I am getting ready to visit Napa again and wanted to become more familiar with the history of Napa, including the cast of characters. I wasn't disappointed. By the way, I think John Morgan is probably the best narrator I have listened to, after listening to numerous books. Sorry Mr. Brick, I have a new favorite.

Baffin Island: Husband-and-wife team Sami and Remi Fargo are on a climate-control expedition in the Arctic, when to their astonishment they discover a Viking ship in the ice, perfectly preserved - and filled with pre-Columbian artifacts from Mexico. How can that be? As they plunge into their research, tantalizing clues about a link between the Vikings and the legendary Toltec feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl - and a fabled object known as the Eye of Heaven - begin to emerge. But so do many dangerous people.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Someone who hasn't read some of the old Cussler and know that he can write a great and fun adventure. Not this caricature of a parody.

What was most disappointing about Clive Cussler and Russell Blake ’s story?

They can't seem to put together more than 2 sentences without inane wisecracks. Just write the story for crying out loud. It seems so forced and becomes old quick.

What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?

He could almost read a telephone book and it would be good.

What character would you cut from The Eye of Heaven?

    The writers.

Based on more than 40 interviews with Jobs conducted over two years—as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.

First, I thought the narrator was fine, so don't let the criticism steer you from the book. This book gives you thoughts on Mr. Jobs from many different view points. It is not a sugar- coated, fluff piece, or a scathing rebuke, but an attempt at the honest story of a man who along with others, changed all of our lives.
