Bobby Dollar is an angel - a real one. He knows a lot about sin, and not just in his professional capacity as an advocate for souls caught between Heaven and Hell. Bobby’s wrestling with a few deadly sins of his own - pride, anger, even lust. But his problems aren’t all his fault. Bobby can’t entirely trust his heavenly superiors, and he’s not too sure about any of his fellow earthbound angels either, especially the new kid that Heaven has dropped into their midst, a trainee angel who asks too many questions.

What did you love best about The Dirty Streets of Heaven?

The way he skirted the line between religious sacrilege and religious respect. Williams took an Angel as his main character and managed to make the book not at all about religion.

What other book might you compare The Dirty Streets of Heaven to and why?

The Desden Files comes to mind for the tone is not the theme.

Absolutley. Great follow-up to Laviathan Wakes. If you like Firefly, then you'll enjoy the Expanse books.

Avasarala because I want a Grandma like that! Not that my Nana isn't great, but Avasarala's pretty cool.

Just Laviathan Wakes. It was a nice continuation of the series.

Since 1990, when Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time® burst on the world with its first book, The Eye of the World, listeners have been anticipating the final scenes of this extraordinary saga, which has sold over 40 million copies in over 32 languages. When Robert Jordan died in 2007, all feared that these concluding scenes would never be written. But working from notes and partials left by Jordan, established fantasy writer Brandon Sanderson stepped in to complete the masterwork.

  • The Farseer: Assassin's Apprentice

With unforgettable characters, a sweeping backdrop, and passionate storytelling, this is a fantasy debut to rival that of Robert Jordan. Filled with adventure and bloodshed, pageantry and piracy, mystery and menace, Assassin's Apprentice is the story of a royal house and the young man who is destined to chart its course through tempests of change.

Would you try another book from Robin Hobb and/or Paul Boehmer?

    Yes

What could Robin Hobb have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Written more action. This story also seemed juvenile. I might of liked in when I was 12, but I only got through it because I heard so much about it.

Could you see The Farseer: Assassin's Apprentice being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    No

    Any additional comments?

I don't want to sound misogynistic, and I happen to not read many female authors, but this seemed to be a fantasy book written by a woman for women (which is weird that almost all characters are men). That's perfectly fine, it's just not for me.
