This Kind of War is a monumental study of the conflict that began in June 1950. Successive generations of U.S. military officers have considered this book an indispensable part of their education. T. R. Fehrenbach's narrative brings to life the harrowing and bloody battles that were fought up and down the Korean Peninsula.

While my father was in this war he spoke little of it. All I knew of it was from watching MASH as a kid. I do believe that after listening to this I have a more than adequate knowledge of the subject. It was well balanced in the political views although the Party's of today would have little resemblance to then. I truly enjoyed.

The art of letting go, Dr. Judith Orloff explains, is the secret key to manifesting power and success in all areas of life, including work, relationships, sexuality, radiant aging, and health and healing. In our superconnected world where emails and text messages constantly interrupt us, it’s easier to let go than you think. Once embraced, surrendering removes roadblocks and the exhaustion that comes from "trying too hard" - and it helps you achieve goals more effortlessly and brings ongoing happiness.

My fault for not checking the author but if you are into self hugging meta physics this book is for you. I can not say how most of the book was to be fair but by the second chapter I had to surrender and get another book.

Young Lerris is dissatisfied with his life and trade, and yearns to find a place in the world better suited to his skills and temperament. But in Recluce a change in circumstances means taking one of two options: permanent exile from Recluce or braving the dangergeld, a complex, rule-laden wanderjahr in the lands beyond Recluce, with the aim of learning how the world works and what his place in it might be. Many do not survive. Lerris chooses the dangergeld.

Love the story as a teen and was looking forward to listening to it but one book in and I am done. If you are reading a story to a child and it says a horse nays one inserts the correct sound effect. But when reading to adults one would assume that adults know what a horse sounds like. I am glad I had headphones on because it would have been embarrassing. So I am done with the series so as not to spool childhood memories.

The Mote In God's Eye is their acknowledged masterpiece, an epic novel of mankind's first encounter with alien life that transcends the genre. No lesser an authority than Robert A. Heinlein called it "possibly the finest science fiction novel I have ever read".

It was a nice straight forward story in the classic tradition with a feel of being written in the 1950's culture but with out the "trust me it works" explanation of technology of the time. The narration was very well done also. It will be listened too many more times in the future.
