In the LAPD's Open-Unsolved Unit, not many murder victims die almost a decade after the crime. So when a man succumbs to complications from being shot by a stray bullet nine years earlier, Bosch catches a case in which the body is still fresh, but all other evidence is virtually nonexistent. Now Bosch and rookie Detective Lucia Soto, are tasked with solving what turns out to be a highly charged, politically sensitive case.

Where does The Burning Room rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This did not measure up to previous Harry Bosch series. I would rate this in mid level listen (only for those who have listen to this series), the first time listeners, I would rate lower tier

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The book dragged out for so long ...

What three words best describe Titus Welliver’s voice?

Not best choice. Bring back previous narrators who gave more life to Harry's character and others.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Book just rolled along, narrator could have made a difference?

    Any additional comments?

Needed more substantial roles of Harry' daughter, FBI Rachel, and other previous characters which would have given this book a bit more life. Book was decent and I will continue series.

Her family - mother, father, and brother - had vanished without a word, without a note, without a trace. Twenty-five years later, Cynthia is still looking for answers. Now she is about to learn the devastating truth.

This is my first book with this author and narrator. Throughly enjoyed this book and give this 4's.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Author kept this story flowing, with twists

What does Christopher Lane bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Narrator did nice job, interestingly kept character separation.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

First, this book kept me wanting to listen on free time. Secondly, I have already purchased the follow up book.

Nicely done with multiple story lines and characters of Interest.

Virgil of course, and how about Johnson Johnson. Also, janitor Bacon...

Have you listened to any of Eric Conger’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Does a great job! Wonder how it would of worked out with a second narrator doing the female voices?

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

No news is good news for the board!

    Any additional comments?

Nice series that offers down to earth COP, doing his job the old fashion way...

The year is 2008 and Samantha Kofer's career at a huge Wall Street law firm is on the fast track - until the recession hits and she gets downsized, furloughed, escorted out of the building. Samantha, though, is one of the "lucky" associates. She's offered an opportunity to work at a legal aid clinic for one year without pay, after which there would be a slim chance that she'd get her old job back. In a matter of days Samantha moves from Manhattan to Brady, Virginia, population 2,200, in the heart of Appalachia, a part of the world she has only read about.

If you could sum up Gray Mountain in three words, what would they be?

Who was your favorite character and why?

Samantha. I would think Grisham has multiple follow up story lines involving Samatha's Mother who works for the Justice Departmpent and her dis barred Father...

Have you listened to any of Catherine Taber’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

First time hearing this narrator, nice job for this story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I enjoyed the story and pace.

    Any additional comments?

Different style for a Grisham novel. Read the negative reviews and was reluctant prior to starting. This book met my expectations and would enjoy a follow up with main character.

Found Andrews narration a bit difficult.

He left more behind him than unresolved feelings about the play that ended his baseball career. If you could sum up Robert B. Parker's Blind Spot in three words, what would they be?

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Book had many plot avenues that tie into the conclusion.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Female characters voices took away and made it difficult. Spoiled on other narrators who have mastered voices or had dual male/female narrators.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Play ball!

    Any additional comments?

This is the first of Robert Parker novels. I enjoyed the Jess Stone character and would listen to the next in the series (hope with different narrator to distinguish male/female voices).

Would you recommend The Secret Place to your friends? Why or why not?

A friend loves the series. I would not be critical when discussing my experience with the last two books from this author. I would offer this as a "pot luck" choice for those who want to listen from outside the U.S. Series.

What three words best describe Stephen Hogan and Lara Hutchinson ’s performance?

Narrators not on my list of favorites. Mr. Hogan should not do female voices, terrible at best.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    No.

    Any additional comments?

Folks, as Mentioned above, I have a friend who loves the series. Maybe reading this novel would have been easier for me...

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, this is my first by this author. Action-packed from start to finish.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Plenty of role characters that had you attempting to figure out the twisting and turning.

Have you listened to any of Kathleen Early’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Never listened to this narrator. Did a very nice job with the separation of each character with distinct dialogue.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book had a little bit of everything. It had the criminal element, the personal heart ache, corruption, and most importantly touching on abuse of our children and our society.

    Any additional comments?

The author hit on many faucets that we face in society today. She touched on the need for undercover law-enforcement, the need to protect our children, the difficulties of losing your unborn child, along with the difficulties that our medical profession face in treating fallen heroes, victims, and a special care that our children need when they are abused.

Would you try another book from Clive Cussler and Russell Blake and/or Scott Brick?

This is a good series. I will listen to follow up adventures of Sam & Remy. Scott Brink has done another nice job in his narration.

Would you recommend The Eye of Heaven to your friends? Why or why not?

This was not a stellar, Compared to his previous novels in series.

Which character – as performed by Scott Brick – was your favorite?

Narrator does a nice job on all of his characters.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No, as mentioned above, this was not the most note worthy of Sam and Remy's adventures.

    Any additional comments?

The author had potential to use other characters as a way of tracking the Fargo's. I was half expecting one of the staff members leaking info to the antagonist character...
