  • The Blood Gospel: The Order of the Sanguines, Book 1

    • UNABRIDGED (17 hrs and 59 mins)
    • By James Rollins, Rebecca Cantrell
    • Narrated By Christian Baskous
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

An earthquake in Masada, Israel, kills hundreds and reveals a tomb buried in the heart of the mountain. A trio of investigators - Sergeant Jordan Stone, a military forensic expert; Father Rhun Korza, a Vatican priest; and Dr. Erin Granger, a brilliant but disillusioned archaeologist - are sent to explore the macabre discovery, a subterranean temple holding the crucified body of a mummified girl. But a brutal attack at the site sets the three on the run, thrusting them into a race to recover what was once preserved in the tomb's sarcophagus: a book rumored to have been written by Christ's own hand....

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

another vampire, warewolf book and not a good one. The reader isn't that good either. Tried twice to listen to it, didn't get thru the first part either time.

Would you be willing to try another book from James Rollins and Rebecca Cantrell ? Why or why not?

Loved most of James Rollins previous books

What didn’t you like about Christian Baskous’s performance?

    too slow

Could you see The Blood Gospel being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

  • 11-22-63: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (30 hrs and 44 mins)
    • By Stephen King
    • Narrated By Craig Wasson

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Kelly says: "I Owe Stephen King An Apology"
    "Wow, a wonderful listen"
Would you listen to 11-22-63 again? Why?

yes, and I am recommending it to friends and family. this book had me from the beginning and kept my interest throughout, I did not want to quit listening, I finished it in 4 days

What was one of the most memorable moments of 11-22-63?

There were many, but I don't want to give anything away

What about Craig Wasson???s performance did you like?

Great performance, seamless, I heard the book, not the reader

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    laughed, cried, experienced intense suspense

    Any additional comments?

I very very rarely give 5 stars to a book, to this book I wish I could give more. I downloaded this book many weeks ago because I like Stephen King, however I thought I would be bored by one more book about the Kennedy Assignation, this week I decided to give it a try. This book is about the assignation and it isn't, its not what I expected, it is much more than I could have imagined. Many Kudos to Stephen King.

  • Scavengers: Posadas County Mysteries #1

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 38 mins)
    • By Steven F. Havill
    • Narrated By Stephanie Brush

Not one, but two dead bodies are found in the harsh New Mexico desert. The first man's face is smashed beyond recognition, and the second one appears to have been forced to dig his own grave before being murdered...execution style.

Soon, new Sheriff Robert Torrez and Undersheriff Estelle Reyes-Guzman are knee deep in the midst of a brutal murder spree that spans both sides of the border.

    Jean says: "good read"
    "New Reader ruins the book"

Do not waste your credit on this book. The new reader is worse than awful. Her clipped voice and stupid annoying, iritating characterizations totally ruin the book. I had to turn it off after 15 minutes, tried a second time and only made it 8 more minutes. It is such a shame because I totally enjoyed the series up to this point. I can't imagine anyone allowing this reader to continue. I will see if a kindle version is available and let my kindle read it to me.

  • The Devil Colony: A Sigma Force Novel, Book 7

    • UNABRIDGED (15 hrs and 37 mins)
    • By James Rollins
    • Narrated By Peter Jay Fernandez
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Deep in the Rocky Mountains, a gruesome discovery - hundreds of mummified bodies - stirs international attention and fervent controversy. Despite doubts to the bodies' origins, the local Native American Heritage Commission lays claim to the prehistoric remains, along with the strange artifacts found in the same cavern: gold plates inscribed with an unfathomable script.

Sandra says: "Sigma to the rescue - again!"
"Good, but not the best of the series"

I loved the other books in this series, this one never got beyond just okay. The premise was a bit off and overdone for me. It is very heavy into Morman beliefs which I found very tiresome and this book didn't hold my interest. Nothing against Mormans, the few I know are great people and even though I don't believe as they do I have respect for their beliefs; just not something I want as a subject for a suspense novel.

  • The Passage: The Passage Trilogy, Book 1

    • UNABRIDGED (36 hrs and 52 mins)
    • By Justin Cronin
    • Narrated By Scott Brick, Adenrele Ojo, Abby Craden
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

First, the unthinkable: a security breach at a secret U.S. government facility unleashes the monstrous product of a chilling military experiment. Then, the unspeakable: a night of chaos and carnage gives way to sunrise on a nation, and ultimately a world, forever altered. All that remains for the stunned survivors is the long fight ahead and a future ruled by fear—of darkness, of death, of a fate far worse.

Nicole says: "You love it or you hate it..."
    "Tried to like it"

Tedious. I really tried to like it, finally gave up somewhere in the fourth download bit. Way too many preachy, boring, or tedious parts. I gave it three stars because I think there is a good story somewhere among the tedium.

Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to deliver an evening lecture in the U.S. Capitol. Within minutes of his arrival, the night takes a bizarre turn. A disturbing object is discovered in the Capitol Building. The object is an ancient invitation, meant to usher its recipient into a long-lost world of hidden esoteric wisdom. And when Langdon's mentor is kidnapped, Langdon's only hope of saving him is to accept this invitation and follow wherever it leads him.

    Frank says: "Not his best"
    "Not Dan Browns best effort"

This book was good, not wonderful. Definitely not equal to the DaVinci Code.

  • Lover Revealed: Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 4

    • UNABRIDGED (16 hrs and 19 mins)
    • By J.R. Ward
    • Narrated By Jim Frangione
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Butch O'Neal is a fighter by nature. A hard-living ex-homicide cop, he's the only human ever to be allowed in the inner circle of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. And he wants to go even deeper into the vampire world-to engage in the turf war with the lessers. His heart belongs to a female vampire, Marissa, an aristocratic beauty who's way out of his league. And if he can't have her, then at least he can fight side by side with the Brothers.

    Antoinette says: "My Favorite"
    "Excellent series"

I've read all seven books and am now listening to them. Hightly readable and entertaining. I think this is my favorite of the seven books in the series. I highly recommend this series to readers who like vampires, especially those that are somewhat different than your average vamp.
