To most people, Fiona Bristow seems to have an idyllic life — a quaint house on an island off Seattle’s coast, a thriving dog-training school, and a challenging volunteer job performing canine search and rescue. Not to mention her three intensely loyal Labs. But Fiona got to this point by surviving a nightmare.

Not a bad book. Lots about dogs and dog training, so if your a dog lover this is a plus. But there are also some spicy bits and a nice thriller undercurrent. I do recommend.

In The Witch with No Name, Kim Harrison brings back her wildly popular heroine for one final, epic battle. Rachel Morgan's come a long way from the klutzy runner fleeing a bad job. She's faced vampires and werewolves, banshees, witches, and soul-eating demons. She's crossed worlds, channeled gods, and accepted her place as a day-walking demon. She's lost friends and lovers and family, and an old enemy has become something much more.

Great ending to the series with no 'what ifs' left. Just a pity it's all come to an end at last.

Benson Fisher thought that a scholarship to Maxfield Academy would be the ticket out of his dead-end life. He was wrong. Now he’s trapped in a school that’s surrounded by a razor-wire fence. A school where video cameras monitor his every move. Where there are no adults. Where the kids have split into groups in order to survive. Where breaking the rules equals death. But when Benson stumbles upon the school’s real secret, he realizes that playing by the rules could spell a fate worse than death, and that escape - his only real hope for survival - may be impossible.

Great story that kept me guessing and on the edge.
Can't wait to listen to the second book in the series when it comes out in October 2012.

The fire that was to change so many lives started with a single shaft of lightning. It struck on a still and moonless night and cocooned for a while in the heart of an ancient pine. The woman camped nearby with her group of troubled teenagers slept on, hearing nothing. But one among them would be lost forever. For soon the pupa of fire would hatch and engulf the entire mountain. Into this inferno will come the Smoke Jumper.

This first volume in the hugely popular and highly acclaimed epic fantasy series A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE is unabridged and split into two parts. Now a major Sky Atlantic TV series from HBO, starring Sean Bean. Summers span decades. Winter can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun.

The town of Wirrawee is emerging from war, slowly, like a flower after a cold snap. Businesses are starting to reopen, the school has re-commenced classes, and local farmers are gradually repossessing their land. But it's not the same Australia as before the war. A new nation exists just a few miles away, a new border that separates Australia from its invaders. Or does it?

More than one narrator would of been a better choice. Although great as Ellie, for Gavin and Homer it was a bad choice. Homer is greek, but sounds like he has a learning delay with no sign of accident and Gavin sounds girly. But still a good story to listen too.

This starts off slow, but does get there in the end. I really enjoyed when the narrator was telling Eliza's story and also Cassandra's more than Nell's. But just my personal opinion. Would recommend to people who enjoy a English novel or story that are set in the past, But I would recommened.

Life sucks when your friends are pissed at you. Just ask Zoey Redbird. In one week she has gone from having three boyfriends to having none, and from having a close group of friends who trusted and supported her to being an outcast. Speaking of friends, the only two Zoey has left are undead and unMarked. And Neferet has declared war on humans, which Zoey knows in her heart is wrong.

    Overall

Great audiobook. I didn't realise it was the fourth in a series which was a bit annoying. Would be really good if it made some mention of this in the blurb. Otherwise not a bad listen to for teens or teen hearted people.

Will be interesting to see what happens in the next book.
