In 2006, hedge fund manager John Paulson realized something few others suspected--that the housing market and the value of subprime mortgages were grossly inflated and headed for a major fall. Paulson's background was in mergers and acquisitions, however, and he knew little about real estate or how to wager against housing. He had spent a career as an also-ran on Wall Street. But Paulson was convinced this was his chance to make his mark. He just wasn't sure how to do it....

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Wonderful book to listen when you are in the car or have the will to relax. The story is easy and you just have to take it in..... the fun of it is that at the end of the day it is true and some had got it right a long time before the federal agencies and the fed decided to understand what was happening. this magical down turn in the economy so many are suffering of has been able to generate so much wealth for a view is astonishing and will et you wonder a lot on the reality of wall street....

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

if they made a film out of the book I would certainly go and see it.

If you could sum up Red Notice in three words, what would they be?

Red Notice gives us a view of the new capitalism in Russia but also opens the door on the Judicial system in Russia today and how any judicial system could become if we are not vigilant on mantaining and protecting our liberties.
A James bond film could not have given such a thrill, the only problem is that all of it a true and not a fiction!!! must read

If you could give Red Notice a new subtitle, what would it be?

Back to my grand fathers roots: from discovering capitalism in Russia to becoming a civil rights activist.

What happened to Islamic reform? Why have al Qaeda and Boko Haram become the faces of contemporary Islam? Why has the Arab Spring devolved into a battle over sharia law? Continuing her personal journey from a deeply religious Islamic upbringing to a post at Harvard and American citizenship, the New York Times best-selling author of Infidel and Nomad crafts a powerful call for an Islamic reformation as the only way to end the current wave of global violence and repression of women.

What did you love best about Heretic?

Ayaan Hirsi Ali opens a new approach of the three ways to view Islam gives us an insight of how Muslims today. The minority she identifies as Medina favouring a static view of Islam has brought the entire world under pressure. Her view on revising Islam is an opening and hopeful path to a modern and better world. I strongly believe that her testimony will open discussion and in the end increase tolerance within the Islamic world. her interpretation has modified my way of considering Islam but at the same time helped me believe that without compliance but through a steady path of reform and education ,we can hope in a peaceful future, where all religions including agnostics can live without extremists. the horrors we are seeing today in the Islamic world are the product of ignorance and power games where if Islam does not reform itself may win. we all need to help this change become true......Great book and an act of courage knowing the risks it took to Ayaan to wright it!

Krauss’ answers to these and other timeless questions, in a wildly popular lecture on YouTube, has attracted almost a million viewers. One of the few prominent scientists to have actively crossed the chasm between science and popular culture, Krauss reveals that modern science is indeed addressing the question of why there is something rather than nothing—with surprising and fascinating results.

What made the experience of listening to A Universe from Nothing the most enjoyable?

In order to follow the narrator, you will need to be concentrated, the concepts presented in the book are simple only in appearance. I enjoyed the book and added to other books on the subject you can find on audible I believe I had a good introduction to the matter.

What about Lawrence M. Krauss and Simon Vance ’s performance did you like?

in some parts, the narration was a bit fast for me, but this of course is very personal and happened only a view times in the entire book.

From the front lines of the battle against Islamic fundamentalism, a searing, unforgettable audiobook that captures the human essence of the greatest conflict of our time. Through the eyes of Dexter Filkins, the prize-winning New York Times correspondent, we witness the remarkable chain of events that began with the rise of the Taliban in the 1990s, continued with the attacks of 9/11, and moved on to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
