A master chronicler of the deceptions and betrayals of ordinary people caught in political conflict, le Carré portrays the dark side of the unbridled capitalism. The Constant Gardener is a magnificent exploration of the new world order by one of the most compelling and elegant storytellers of our time.

I found this book hard to follow on audio. I don't know if it seemed random since it was an abridged version, or not, but I constantly felt like I was missing something.

This book validated my audio book addiction. It also gave me some great ideas to catagorize my books and make them more enjoyable. One of the best "self help" guides I've read.

Daniel Pecan Cambridge, 30, 35, 38 or 27, depending on how he feels that day, is a young man whose life is rich and full, provided he never leaves his Santa Monica apartment. After all, outside there are 8-inch-high curbs and there's always the horrible chance he might see a gas station attendant wearing a blue hat. So, except for the occasional trip to the Rite Aid to admire the California girl Zandy and to buy earplugs because they're on sale, he stays home a lot. And good thing, too.

    Story

Ron Chernow, whom the New York Times called "as elegant an architect of monumental histories as we've seen in decades", now brings to startling life the man who was arguably the most important figure in American history, who never attained the presidency, but who had a far more lasting impact than many who did.

    "Alexander Hamilton"

The only drawback to this book was I felt that it was a bit too detailed making it a bit draggy. I wish that I'd read the abridged version. I enjoyed getting to know Alexander Hamilton, though, and learning what a complicated man he was.

Cokie returns with Founding Mothers, an intimate look at the passionate women whose tireless pursuits on behalf of their families and country proved just as crucial to the forging of a new nation as the rebellion that established it.

This was a refreshing perspective on the formation of our country. After reading "Benjamin Frankin", "John Adams", and "Alexander Hamilton" it was nice to read a book about the women behind the men.

This rich, timely, and highly original portrait of the Buddha explores both the archetypal religious icon and Buddha the man. In lucid and compelling prose, Armstrong brings to life the Buddha's quest, from his renunciation of his privileged life to the discovery of a truth that he believed would utterly transform human beings and enable them to live at peace in the midst of life's suffering.

I thought this book was difficult to follow in audio form. I had to purchase other reference materials to clarify what I read.
