Lisbeth Salander—the heart of Larsson’s two previous novels—lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. She’s fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she’ll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders. With the help of her friend, journalist Mikael Blomkvist, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those in authority.

    B.J. says: "Perfect."
    "A thoroughly satisfying conclusion"
    Overall

Many, many driveway moments in this book. You absolutely must have read the prior two books to understand this book but if you have you will find it very satisfying. The narration is top notch and I am sorry to see the trilogy end.

Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

I can't believe that I waited this long to listen to a John Grisham novel!!! I began looking for reasons to get in my car and drive for miles just to get in a few more minutes of listening. Michael Beck's narration is spot on and his repertoire of voices is amazing.
At first I couldn't figure out how Grisham was going to fill 18 hours with a story about a family contesting a will but he certainly exceeded my expectations greatly.
The cast of characters that he has assembled for this story are very well developed and the pace of the story never lets up.
This one should be on everyone's must listen to list.

In Virginia, there is an agency bearing the bland name of Technical Operations Support Activity, or TOSA. Its one mission is to track, find, and kill those so dangerous to the United States that they are on a short document known as the Kill List. TOSA actually exists. So does the Kill List. Added to it is a new name: a terrorist of frightening effectiveness called the Preacher, who radicalizes young Muslims abroad to carry out assassinations. Unfortunately for him, one of the kills is a retired Marine general, whose son is TOSA's top hunter of men....

I have listened to and loved Avenger, The Afghan, and The Odessa File. The Kill LIst, while entertaining, is not Mr. Forsyth's best. The story starts out great and , like his other books, the suspense builds up and does hold your attention. The narrator did do a good job.
My biggest complaint is that with 30 minutes of listening to go, there were a lot of loose ends that needed to be tied up and this was done rather hastily.
Contrast this with Avenger which has a totally satisfying ending and you will see what this book lacks.

When a band of backwoods hunters crash a corporate retreat in the wilderness, executives find themselves held hostage by men who will do anything to get the largest ransom in history. The corporate big shots hadn't wanted junior exec Jake Landry there. But now he's the only one who can save them.

I have to admit that I was drawn to this story because Dennis B is one of my favorite narrators. Finder's story plays well into Dennis's strengths as a narrator. The story is definitely fast paced ..filled with driveway moments. If you are listening on the freeway, you would give serious consideration to driving a few miles out of your way to get in extra minutes of listening. I enjoyed the industry backdrop that Finder chose for this story. If you are looking for a fun 8 hours of listening, you cannot go wrong with this one.

When Charles "Shake" Bouchon, professional wheel man, walks out of prison after a three-year stretch for grand theft auto, he's got only two problems: he's too nice a guy for the life he's led and not nice enough for any other. So he says yes when he's asked to run a simple errand for his former boss and lover, Alexandra Ilandryan, the formidable pakhan of the Armenian mob in Los Angeles.

I know when I enjoyed a book when it ends way before I wanted it to end. This was a well crafted story and the narration was spot on. I was not familiar with Mr. Ballerini prior to this listening(since I don't watch much television) and I thought that his interpretation of the characters added to what was already a very clever story with well developed characters. I concur with the listeners who likened the story to those written by Carl Hiassen. I thank those listeners whose reviews convinced me that this was a good next book to listen to and this is my attempt to pay it forward

If you could sum up Agent 6 in three words, what would they be?

    Compelling,fast-paced,satisfying

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

To a great extent yes.smith does a good job of moving the plot along and throws in just the right amount of twists. There were plent of driveway moments

What about Dennis Boutsikaris’s performance did you like?

The narration fits the story perfectly. He is a pleasure to listen to in the same way as it was listening to Simon Vance reading the milennium trilogy-you savor every moment and you don't want the story to end .the 13 hours goes by quickly

It is a society that is, officially, a paradise. Superior to the decadent West, Stalin's Soviet Union is a haven for its citizens, providing for all of their needs: education, health care, security. In exchange, all that is required is their hard work, and their loyalty and faith to the Soviet State. But now a murderer is on the loose.

The narration is top notch and the story ...while a difficult listen at times..always was compelling. I found myself sitting in the driveway way too long not wanting to leave the story.
