When a 15-year-old girl is abducted by vampires, it’s up to U.S. Marshal Anita Blake to find her. And when she does, she’s faced with something she’s never seen before: a terrifyingly ordinary group of people - kids, grandparents, soccer moms - all recently turned and willing to die to avoid serving a master. And where there’s one martyr, there will be more.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Lackluster plot. I usually enjoy this series, but this one was a little boring.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I think Kimberly Alexis usually does an excellent job, but what is up with the new Micah voice. It almost sounds irish. Completely different from past books.

Raised in the historic southern splendor of Natchez, Mississippi, Penn Cage learned all he knows of honor and duty from his father, Dr. Tom Cage. But now the beloved family doctor has been accused of murdering Viola Turner, the African-American nurse with whom he worked in the dark days of the 1960s. Penn is determined to save his father, but Tom, stubbornly invoking doctor-patient privilege, refuses to even speak in his own defense.

I am a really picky listener. I was shocked when Dick Hill wasn't listed as the narrator, but went ahead and purchased the book. I think the new narrator did a fairly good job. I think a lot of listeners are just use to Dick Hill. I think David LeDoux did a better job on the voices for different characters.

The story overall was very good and I think much better than the last Penn Cage book. I will definitely purchase the next one.

Navy SEAL Ian Dunn went rogue in a big way when he turned his talents to a lawless life of jewel heists and con jobs - or so the world has been led to believe. In reality, the former Special Ops warrior is still fighting for good, leading a small band of freelance covert operatives who take care of high-stakes business in highly unofficial ways. That makes Ian the hands-down choice when the US government must breach a heavily guarded embassy and rescue a pair of children kidnapped by their own father, a sinister foreign national willing to turn his kids into casualties.

There is nothing fresh and new in this book. I didn't really care for any of the characters. Repeat story line from her troubleshooters books ( and not as well done) Narrators are the only good thing about this book.

Being a goddess is a lot less fun than you might think. Especially when you're only a half goddess, you only found out about it recently, and you still don't know what you're doing half the time. And when you've just used your not-so-reliable powers to burglarize the booby-trapped office of a vampire mob boss. Yeah, that part sucks. But that's just the tip of the iceberg for Cassandra Palmer, aka the Pythia, the freshly minted chief seer of the supernatural world.

I don't think I would be so miffed if it didn't take this author forever to release books. Last time is was a 2 year gap. I am kind of losing interest in this series. I feel like after 6 books, the story should be further along.

I also think the other narrator does a better job. It irks me when publishers change narrators during a series. You get use to someone doing the voices and it's like starting a new series when they switch.

I don't know if I will purchase the next one if it takes 2 years for it to release.

When teenagers Danielle and Gracie Sullivan take a clandestine car trip to visit their friend in Montana, little do they know it's the last time anyone will ever hear from them again. The girls and their car simply vanish. Cody Hoyt, who's just lost his job and has fallen off the wagon after a long stretch of sobriety, is in no condition to investigate. But his son Justin, who the girls were going to visit, and his former partner, Cassie Dewell, convince him to drive south to their last known location. As Cody makes his way to the remote stretch of Montana highway where the girls went missing, Cassie discovers that there have been scores of similar disappearances in the state.

Nora Sutherlin is in handcuffs, held captive by two men. Under different circumstances, she would enjoy the situation immensely, but her captors aren't interested in play. As the reality of her impending peril unfolds, Nora becomes Scheherazade, buying each hour of her life with stories - sensual tales. This, Nora realizes, is her life: nothing so simple, so vanilla, as a mere love triangle for her. It's a knot in a silken cord, a tangled mass of longings of the body and the heart and the mind. And it may unravel at any moment.

I am so disappointed. They have done a good job with the rest of this series. This narrator sounds like a 19 year old girl. Please listen to the sample before you purchase this book. I will be returning the audio and getting the ebook. I may have to go listen to a earlier book in this series to "cleanse" my hearing.

Having read this book before purchasing the audio book, I can say that this is the wrong narrator for this series. Narrator is dull. Jory is this wonderful character, who is suppose to be spunky with a little snark thrown in. After listening to this book, the whole story just comes across boring and that is because of the narrator, not the story. I recommend reading this one instead of listening to it.

Luckily, the man is actually the master vampire Louis-Cesare, so he's not an easy kill.
