Asa Akira (28) has already had an extremely unusual life. Educated at the United Nations International School in Manhattan, she soon was earning a good living by stripping and working as a dominatrix at a sex dungeon. Akira has now built up a reputation for being of the most popular, hardworking, and extreme actors in the business, winning dozens of awards for her 330+ movies, including her number-one best-selling adult film series Asa Akira Is Insatiable.

In Insatiable, Akira recounts her extraordinary life in chapters that are hilarious, shocking, and touching. In a wry, conversational tone, she talks about her experiences shoplifting and doing drugs while in school, her relationships with other porn stars (she is married to one) and with the industry at large, and her beliefs about women and sexuality. Insatiable is filled with Akira’s unusual and often highly amusing anecdotes, including her visit to a New Hampshire sex shop run by a mother and son.

In a world where porn is increasingly becoming part of the mainstream, Akira is one of very few articulate voices writing from the inside. She has something important, controversial, and astonishingly interesting to say about sex and its central role in our lives and culture.

But got redundant. It was like following a young girl who liked to do deviant things around NY.

The beautiful Asa and her story of really just living her life as she was wired. She seems to go as she chooses but also shows how in life we all have struggles. we all make choices and this choices are our life story. I like stories of real people and our flaws, quirks and passions all make us interesting. Her life story is as told by her.

Interesting insight to some persons porn Journey

This book is certainly interesting, to say the least. Promise to keep an open mind, and you'll be fine.

Asa Akira skillfully and helpfully mixes personal stories of her lengthy career in porn (it is still ongoing), with explanations of how the industry works. She considerately explains slang terms and widely accepted practices within the business that one would have no other way of knowing.

I have nothing but respect for her writing skills, and her verbal reading skills. Her voice is clear and crisp. The producer needs to find a new job though. The volume regularly drops and rises at random intervals for no discernible reason. I often thought the battery on my speaker was dying and would jump to rescue it.

Asa is totally forthcoming, she sugarcoats nothing - even stories that are not favorable to her reputation. But her honesty is endearing, and she makes no apologies. Only offers to learn from her mistakes, hopefully, the next time.

Enjoy learning something new about something new. Just, don't listen out loud where young or innocent ears can overhear. Asa holds nothing back in terms of colorful language and vivid descriptions.

Feel free to give it a chance, you'll enjoy!

The book kind of came off as flat. Honestly I may not be the target audience. It was interesting enough that I can’t really put the experience into words. Just not super engaging.

Not a waste of my time but……
