23. Love to listen to books while i clean/drive/and pretty much anything else!!!! genre loves: romance, contemporary, suspense
Christina Lauren did it again!!!!! Beautiful Player was amazing!! and possibly my favorite of the Beautiful Bastard series! This book includes all our favorite characters from books before as well as a couple new ones which makes this book even more enjoyable!
Hanna Bergstrom was just like any other normal 23-year-old woman except for the fact that she was kind of a nerd!Yes a nerd. The kind of nerd that goes to the lab in the early hours of the day and doesn't return home until the late hours of the night. The thing about Hanna was that she was attractive and was well endowed where it counted but she had no desire to seek out relationships of any kind!
Will Sumner was a seriously hot and seriously successful 31-year-old that didn't have any interest in having relationships with woman other than meeting up once a week for sex with different girls only to go to bed at night alone.
Little did Will know, Hanna had a crush on Will since she was 12 years old but hadn't thought much about him since he had moved out of her childhood home. After being encouraged by her brother and dad (EMBARRASSING) to get out more and to meet new people, Hanna calls Will and asks him to teach her all about being social and talking to guys. Will agrees, but not for the reasons that Hanna thinks that he does.
Beautiful Player is an amazing read that you WILL NOT want to put down until the very last sentence!!!!
Both Will and Hannah, the main characters are just the coolest characters and just the story line and how they came about is just the sweetest :)
When they slept together for the first time
I loved it, but wish there was more meat to the story and just a lil less back and forth and up and down with the characters emotions and crossing of wires, but it didn't put me off so bad that I didn't thoroughly enjoy this book. Maybe some hilarious catch or something at her families house or something.......shutting up now!!
Well the sex, playfulness and the characters.....nice to feel like you have a good grasp on the characters personalities. Like you could actually know the people in real life...
I liked all the characters to be honest......and thanx for not turning this into another jaded girl gone crazy screwing up the relationship of the main characters, cause their to dense to see it til the end of the book. Really over that scene, been played out in too many other books for my liking!! :) Maybe I am just reading to many romance novels...lol Is that a real thing as Hanah would ask...
Wouldn't, this your baby not mine ;)
I would like to add the narrators were great both of them, but OMG....Sebastian York (if that is his real name ;) ) his voice does things to me, good golly miss molly just listening to his voice while he describes a sex scene has my blood boiling for real and panting when he talks like Max and ........I almost stroked out. He's a keeper/ wink wink
The unexpected, naivity and openness of Hannah was refreshing. What an adorable couple. I found myself laughing from some of the dialogue. The love scenes were good and not over the top but sweet and sexy. More of these books would be great! The narrators are great together. He sounds like the hunks she writes about. I'd love to see a picture of what they look like, both Seabastian and Will. Grace does a good job and they both bring the characters to life. I highly recommend this one.
Yes. I LOVE Sebastian York as the narrator, first and foremost. The story was easy to read, and realistic, yet an element of dreaminess. I truly found that I liked both characters and couldn't stop reading.
I liked the storyline. Girl has lussted after her bothers BFF her entire life and now has a chance to spend time with him as an adult. She's comfortable around him, and the story felt like two lifelong friends falling in love and they didn't want to believe it. It really captured my attention and I felt like I was there with the characters.
I thought Grace did a great job of narrating for Hanna. She sounds age appropriate and portrayed the character well. Sebastian York - well, he's dreamy and I love every book he's narrated. I will chose a book BECAUSE of Sebastian York.
I like the current name.
Yes, I really liked Ziggy and Wil. Although fictional characters, the story line felt very true
I liked both of their performances. I've listened to a few books which were performed by Sebastian York and I love his voice...
HATE spoilers! Enjoy HOT, sexy books. No vampires, paranormal, teens 4 me. Running out this type Audible-so on2 lighter romance/mystery :-(
Tugs your heart
The Beautiful series is stands out with smart writing in a sea of this latest fad.
Listeners ma enjoy the On Dublin Street Series by Samantha Young
The entire book is one favorite scene after another. My only complaint (teeny-tiny) would be that it took too long to get to the sexy part.
The bombshell bookworm. A chronic Casanova. And a lesson in chemistry too scandalous for school.
When Hanna Bergstrom receives a lecture from her overprotective brother about neglecting her social life and burying herself in grad school, she's determined to tackle his implied assignment: get out, make friends, start dating. And who better to turn her into the sultry siren every man wants than her brother's gorgeous best friend, Will Sumner, venture capitalist and unapologetic playboy?
Will takes risks for a living, but he's skeptical about this challenge of Hanna's…until the wild night his innocently seductive pupil tempts him into bed - and teaches him a thing or two about being with a woman he can't forget. Now that Hanna's discovered the power of her own sex appeal, it's up to Will to prove he's the only man she'll ever need.
Hot, sexy writing...not your typical mindless dribble so prevalent in this category.
Some strong language and writing is intended for a 18+ audience for it's mature content.
The slow lead up and story. How it was the guy who fell in love first and it was really a romance from the guy's perspective mostly.
When they went to visit her family. Loved all of that weekend!
Great voices. I completely get the characters with these two voices.
I wouldn't rename it.
Chloe and Bennett were snarky and ridiculously over the top.
Sarah and Max were mysteriously naive and adventurous.
Hannah and Will are just fun and cute and perfectly average people you can't help but fall for!
I have really liked this series. That said, I have other series I have liked more. That was until I stopped focusing totally on Bennet and Chloe. Beautiful Player was left off my list because I didn't know if it would pay to step away from focusing on Bennet and Chloe (Did I like the series enough to pay for this one??). I was wrong. After I finally listened to Beautiful Stranger (Max and Sara) , I realized I needed to Listen to Will's story on this one. Both Stranger and Player go into Depth in their characters - I love the his and hers versions and the accents by the way on these narrations as well - this is one of the cases where the narration surpasses the written book. Perhaps it's the evolution of the series in my mind, but I prefer to think it's the evolution of the writing (getting better and better) and the redeeming qualities of the characters in this story that puts it on top. Yes Will is a man whore - but he redeems himself in my eyes - and the bigger they are, the harder they fall - Love this book, give me some more! This is by FAR the best of the series, and next best is Beautiful Stranger - Bennet and Chloe need more personalization - don't get me wrong, love them, but what they're feeling is never as clear as it is with Will and Hannah - I look forward to your continued growth in writing!
Christina Lauren is my newest addiction! Total favorite
I love the dynamic between Will and Hannah. I always listen to my books, and the fact that Sebastian York brought Will to life only made me love the story even more!
The "dry sex" scene at Will's apartment after she tells him she dreamed of being with him as a teen. He was so careful with her, but it was still SO HOT!
I wouldn't. Fits in to well with the other books
