Mary Katherine lost her sexy accent in this book. I liked how the book started off, but It seemed like the author got to a certain point in the book and realized that it was time to move it along and tell the rest of the story. So a lot of the subplot items tended to get less attention. This one was just "okay"
A little gruesome for us old schoolers who remember when the cowboy was shot and you didn't see the blood didn't mean he wasn't dead. But I guess people need a more vivid picture these days to tell the bad guys from the good guys.
I really miss Bobby Cannavale, or even the first narrator. This one just doesn't have the right cadence or inflection. Something is off. It sounds like he's asking a question or leaving the sentence hanging as he reads so it's difficult to listen to. I keep thinking "is his sentence over or is he pausing?" I'm going to listen to the next book because I love this series and family, but for the next production I hope they change narrators. As usual, the "bad guy" narrator was great.
The story line was cliche, the performance was so-so, and the plot was predictable! Although I am a fan of Patterson's, I found this book to be lacking in the intricate, engaging plot that caused me to really care about the characters! Certainly not one his best
I was hoping for more action in the second book and I was not disappointed. The nastiest villain ever. Also, just when you think the story is over it kicks back into full throttle action.
I have always been a fan of the Bennett series but I couldn't get through a fourth of this book due to the narration! The story seems like it might be interesting. I love how it opened but then it seems out there.
Probably not. I liked the book but the narrator made the characters kind of a bore.
I liked everything with the Mexican cartel... sadly we really face that kind of stuff now days.
I was not a fan of the performance. The narrator is kind of monotone and I really wish they would have had Bobby Cannavale. I LOVED his work.
No, I was surprised at times but not to the extreme.
PLEASE BRING BACK BOBBY CANNAVALE!!!
I really like the characters.
Poorly, I was disappointed when the last book ended in a cliff hangar. I thought the story line was lame.
Really good readers. Some of the best and indeed part of the reason I love this series of books and why I am so disappointed with the lame attempt at writing.
Cry, that such a good character was wasted on a poor story line.
Please try to do better. You have a great character with a wonderful family. You need to put more effort into the story. Particularly when you got out of the US, the story line was downright silly.
Not great! This book is basically completing the disappointing book 5. Could have been part of that publication. No big surprises. Bet you can guess what happens like I did as the story went along. I miss Bobby Carnavale as narrator.
