I took a chance on this book there was no sample available by have enjoyed Nora Roberts book before. All I can say is that after listening to only 3 chapters I was hooked. I have never written a review before but felt the need to write one now. The books release timing is prefect with Halloween only a few days away. So take a chance and get this book . I will write more after I finish it.
I have not. But her voices are great. I usually will not listen to books with out hearing a sample first because the narrator can make or break a good book.
It hooked me from the first sentence. an intense need to hear more and find out where and what was going to happen next.
I listen to books because I'm not a strong reader have listen to over 200 books in the past year all types . So I know Nora Roberts writing style. But again the Narrator can make the story good or bad and Katherine Kellgren does an excellent job.
Good story - pretty typical of Nora - I enjoy all of her books but I had a really hard time listening - the narrator was so overly dramatic I had to stop several times to "rest" my ears - I have also purchased the e-book and will be reading. I am sure I will enjoy that more!
the reader was overly dramatic - I am all for emphasis on the "exciting" parts of the story but the reader was completely over the top!
I did not read the print but the audio was fabulous...Katherine Kellgren brings Ireland and the characters alive with her Irish accent.
There were so many I cannot choose ...
Again I enjoyed so many the book is truly gripping, humerous and emotional the entire way through.
Yes, both laugh and cry but not much cry only one scene.
Nora Roberts has done it again. a brilliant story combining other worldly and the modern. Katherine Kellgren was fabulous in her character narrations. I felt I was in Ireland listening to the Irish people. Cannot wait for the next book.
I am a audiobook NUT !!! I Can't Get Enough Romance Books!!!
Nora Roberts NEVER Lets You Down She's The BEST!!!!
All of them
YES YES YES
No - the narrator's voice was completely distracting.
A different narrator would have added greatly to the story. She was so over-the-top that I had to stop listening at times. It was very difficult to tell which character was speaking during the dialogue (male and/or female) - the Irish accent was depressingly heavy.
This book started off really bad - trite and boring, but the narrator was so over the top dramatic that I could not keep listening to see if things ever got any better. I tried twice and turned it off almost at once. She was loud and dramatic in just about every line she spoke. Could not imagine a whole book listening to this. I am not a fan of Ms. Robert's trilogy books but was willing to give this a try. Not happening - returning today.
No , I have enjoyed Nora Roberts as an author but this is just a rewrite of past witch books and a less than mediocre account at best. I suppose I could suffer through the mediocre story but the narrator at times is screaming like a banshee. I suppose this is supposed to add suspense and emotion to the narration but it is someone screeching so that I have turned the book off it is so irritating. I have managed about a third of the book but the characters are so mundane, the narration so awful that I will not continue. If ever this there was a book I was sorry I wasted a credit on it is this one . What a shame as Nora Roberts has written some great stories. I cannot imagine this as a series.
All of it. Even the beginning was awful. Just felt it would get better.
Don't buy it
I'm a huge Nora Roberts fan but this one just isn't pulling me in. The heroine is an-noy-ing. It may be the performance or the story. I don't have the patience to finish it.
There's some great Nora Roberts to listen to. This isn't it.
If I had not read other NR trilogies that follow the same formula, I would have enjoyed more.
I think NR has run out of story lines and is rehashing with new names and venues. Next will be a book about Connor and Mara (who realize they are more than just friends) then the big finale with Finn and Branna (who have been star crossed). Over and over this pattern occurs.
Nothing stands out as new or fresh
NR should either try some new material or retire. This has become tedious.
