I don't know about you, but why are there so so so many 5 star reviews. I LOVE books, but so few are 5 star.
I'll still buy the next installment, but I was a little apatheic about the story. I love Reacher dated and corny, one liners, choreographed action and soft hearted tough guy.
This was just okay.
Story very weak
Yes. it went down hill when the author sold movie rights to pip squeak Cruise
Author needs to do some soul searching to see if he wants to continue the series
Jack Reacher needs a change in direction
The story just dragged on a bit on this one.
Probably going to take a great from this series.
This is the Jack Reacher I love...BUT the story was very confusing to me I had to relisted to a couple of chapters, and kind of a let down at the end. I expected it to be a real surprise but it really wasn't to me.
I would recommend the book but not in the audio format. The narrator sounds like a refugee from a 40's gangster movie.
Yes. Been a Child's fan for years.
it is in the top 10% of the books i enjoy and read the most
yes, he is one great reader. the meter of his reading makes for an enjoyable listen.
I enjoy the reader Dick Hill. The story was a typical Jack Reacher, which is no more and no less than I expected.
It was a fun read. I appreciated the background on the storyline.
The pursuit as they traveled from location to location was very entertaining.
I don't think that there is anything that can help this
I just don't care about anything that is happening in the story. Even the narrator sound bored
Love a good thriller!
I enjoyed the early two thirds of this series, but either it has gone on too long or I've just reached by fill of Lee Child. It shifted early on from a tale to enjoy into a quest to complete it to end the "therefores" and "in which case" repetition of the dialog.
It may also be that my memory of the Army didn't reflect quite the level of incompetence and manipulation that was commonplace in this story. I'm willing to suspend a certain amount of belief for the sake of plot etc, but this might fall more in the fantasy genre than thriller.
Not much of a plot and wildly unrealistic as well. It also seemed that if it was a tale that must be told, it would have served better as a short story. It had the feeling of being wordy for the sake of adding pages rather than progressing the plot. Overall it seemed like an assembly line effort of simply rolling out another book because the contract called for it or the series past reputation would assure some revenue.
I'm not a huge fan of Mr. Hill, but the performance seemed adequate and perhaps he was no more excited to read the story than I was to hear it.
Not at all.
I think that I personally am done with Reacher. It's been fun for the most part but it seems to have run it's course. I'm disappointed that I can't just look forward to another installment with confidence, but I believe I'll have to devote some time to finding another author or series in the future. So long Jack...it was fun while it lasted.
