We have heard it before, we will hear it again. It is a delight to spend time around the campfire listening to Jack Reacher's war stories.
It is kinda cheesy that from South Dakota to Nebraska to Iowa to Virginia Jack keeps going from one problem to another right away. All while trying to get to VA to meet a woman he met only by phone way back in South Dakota (enough with the sex already). If I were Jack I WOULD settle down just to stay out of trouble. That said.....it was a good story. It took longer than I like to set up but by the time it ends it felt like it was too soon. It had me wishing there was just a little more.
Overall I enjoyed the book a lot. It had some great support characters and a lot of very suspenseful moments. Some highlights were the scene on the plane, Samantha, and the Prison. I enjoyed the book and felt it was another great reacher story until the ending. The end without spoiling it felt anti-climatic. Which is unfortunate because the rest of the book was very solid and a fun read or listen. The narrator was great as usual, giving the characters life and different voices. Overall I still recommend the book but get ready to be disappointed by the ending.
Dick Hill is THE voice of Reacher! The others are ok, but I always picture it best when it's Dick Hills voice. Great story, excellent twists, as we've come to expect from Lee Child. A great read if you're a fan of Mr Reacher and his endless wandering saga.
I love Lee Child's books. because of his persistent detail, you can't help but experience the excitement. I especially like the way he takes care of his nefarious enemies.
Loved to get lost in the book best thing is when you can't get out of the car, even though you're home, just to keep listening! Love love love Lee Child and Jack Reacher = )
