Liane Moriarty always makes me think and try to look beyond whats right in front of me . Which isn't easy to do with the busy lives we lead these days. I couldn't put this book down. And as always, a beautiful and perfect performance by Caroline Lee!!
I loved this book! I love Caroline Lee as a narrator and this author does not disappoint. She is quickly moving to the top of my list as one of my favorite authors.
I love books by Liane Moriarty, and The Husband’s Secret was no exception. I actually listened to the Audible version twice… once last January 2016 and then again in October of the same year. The Husband’s Secret contained all of the elements that I love in Moriarty’s books. The Australian setting is always somewhat exotic when reading from the US. However, the elementary school mothers’ culture appears to be universal. I like the strong female characters, their struggles, growth and intertwined relationships. In The Husband’s Secret, the strong females were woven around several male characters that were significant, but not particularly strong. There were also some unexpected twists. Caroline Lee’s narration was excellent. The Husband’s Secret is definitely a good listen and I’m sure it would be an equally good read.
I thought this was really good and as the title says, I liked it more than I expected to. A good mix of what I would consider kind of a chick flick feel and some suspense. Definitely going to listen to more by this author.
Insightful story of several families and their interwoven lives brings the reader on a remarkable Journey through love friendship loss and the things we could have done should have done or might have done. the characters all remind me of somebody I know, they are each believable and compelling on their own and a force when brought together. I especially appreciate the honesty introspection the female characters in this book. there is a lot of loss and sadness in this book which I think is important to know for people who would prefer not to take a trip down that path. That said, it is handled delicately and with refreshing honesty..
Probably because of the wonderful narrator's performance and different voices.
Although some parts I could see coming, it still kept me guessing. The characters were sympathetic and likeable.
She has a wonderful voice and changes it for different characters.
I liked the epilogue that went through what could have been.
Liane Moriarty and Caroline Lee are becoming my favorite pair! I listen in the car while commuting, and this combination of author and narrator make me look forward to being stuck in the car!
