I'm not sure what the genre is - but this is, I think badly written, boringly conceived and really does remind me of the few times I have seen mid-day television - is there something called Desparate Housewives? I think this must be like that...
I liked the reviewer who said it was suitable for Philosophy 101
it was ok - she did a very good job considering the text she was reading.
I am rather sad (for the sake of an indication of the general level of intellect) that this has reached such heights in the New York Times best seller list - although I must say it is MILES above the Shades of Grey series...so I suppose that is a good thing.
The central premise of this book, that a responsible woman would have stayed with this guy, is absurd. If you can get past that it passes the time. I finished this one.
You know when you're going through a bad time (for example, your dog just died) and you have such painful emotions and your mind just keeps repeating the same things over and over and you just want it to end? Well Liane Moriarty has put those thoughts into a book and you just want it to end. SUMMARIZE!!! These thoughts are beyond tedious when they are your own let alone a made up characters'.Add to this that the narrator's voice is excruciating (fingernails on chalkboard) and the end result is that I couldn't finish the book.
Doubtful. Perhaps only if there was a review stating that they hated this book and that this other book is 100 times better.
Her voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard.
The premise for this book is OK. The execution of the story was not.
I kept waiting for something to happen. There were several separate stories going on, and I figured it was going to be all brought together at some grand point, and it was; but I was left thinking "that's it?"
This was a complete waste of a perfectly good credit. The story was too predictable. The lack of editing was a joke. The introduction of characters was poorly executed.
I'm not sure why people are rating this so highly. I personally find that listening to the suffering of others is depressing, especially when it's fiction. I found nothing meaningful about this book, nor did it open my perception to anything. Dark and depressing, I don't plan to read any others by this author.
What a waste of time. I spent one of my credits & was only able to load books 2 & 3. How can you listen to a book in the middle. This has been happening often with Audible. Is it a function of its having been bought by Amazon? In any event don't buy this book unless you want to waste a credit.
Nothing unless Audible fixes this problem.
Make sure that his book could be listened to, in its complete length.
How can I tell until I can read the complete book -- Thanks Audible! :-(
What a waste of time.
