Endearing. Funny. Friendly.
Jane Lynch's Happy Accidents. The successes and triumphs are presented as information, not gloats. The stories are honest, interesting, and loveable.
N/A - But I really enjoyed learning about the characters he created with his children.
Get to know him all over again...
Yes, much more. It is narrated by Billy Cristal and there are some chapters with audience. Excellent audiobook.
His interpretation is priceless.
Several, it is a very moving book.
Self narrated autobiographical humour.
Not anyone thing. Overall excellent.
Life at 65
Not a prude however way too many uses of the f__ word. Detracts from humour and not necessary for impact.
Being like one long comedy sketch called his life, Billy Crystal keeps you laughing and listening for hours and leaves you wanting more! I laughed out loud all the way through and now listening for the 2nd time and planning on repeat performances every now and then when I need a good laugh--or just a reminder to enjoy the ride. The 8+ hours flew by like no time at all. Get this great audio and laugh your way through it too. This will be great for the morning or evening commute or to make a long trip fly by!
Billy delivered several chapters in front of a live audience and that gave it a "kick".
When he talked about his relationship with his wife and daughters...it was beautiful and heartwarming.
Billy Crystal's ability to make me laugh and cry within a single chapter. He's funny and witty, but then takes you by surprise when he speaks so poetically about experiences in his life
When he spoke about his wife. There's so much love in his life and it's refreshing to see that a big celebrity like him has stayed with the same woman he met before he became famous for so long
The voices! He brought to life everyone he spoke about because he impersonated them
Amazing book. I am a hoof care Practitioner so I trim horses feet for a living, This is very hard work and I use a lot of muscle. I always listen to books when I work but listening to this book was hard because I laughed so much my muscles just went limp and I could not hold the hooves up. The fact that Billy Crystal was reading it only made it better. I wish it was longer. I did not want it to end. I love that his marriage has lasted so long. Wish I had not read it yet so I had something to look forward to. This is a great warm and funny book,
Such a great book, Billy is such a talented artist and it is great to hear his personal story, his true love with his first and only wife. The sorry of losing his father and what it means in life to just get older. Thanks for sharing Billy!
Billy's love of his family is a key theme in the book, and how family helped make him the great comedian, artist and storyteller. It is great to hear of a major artist who didn't cheat on his wife, fall down to drugs and alcohol, become bitter and rejected. Just a loving story of a man who loves his wife, family and of course the Yankee's.
Boy! This one was tough. After reading a few of the reviews and from how I remember many of his on-screen performances I really thought I was in for something enjoyable. This book was disappointing to say the least.
To be honest, the book as a whole was a bit difficult to swallow. I loved the dialog in regards to Mr. Crystal's success, and how he got to where he is. That sort of stuff fascinates me! How he went from a struggling stan-up comedian to hosting the Oscars had my ear. Each step of the way was brilliant. His stories about his love for his parents and his own family were great and his relationship with the New York Yankees and baseball and the game of baseball was priceless. I just didn't enjoy the quips and jokes. They were stale and (I think) really took away from a very good autobiography. Maybe it was just me.
I have always liked Billy Crystal and his career has been amazing. I could've done without the humor and on-location stand-up used to augment an otherwise excellent story about his success.
Great Autobiography...but not very funny.
If you are a Billy Crystal fan, you will absolutely love this book! If you aren't, give it a try and get to know him in this sort of "tell all book". I knew he was a sports fan, but I didn't realize he knew so many athletes. Hilarious quips, jokes, puns and his voice impressions are the best!
Laughing out loud!
There are too many but generally his relationship with Mohamed Ali.
You don't know the half of it!
