I am a James Patterson fan and, after reading the reviews, actually got this book by accident. I decided to give it a go since I'd already paid for it. The other reviewers are right- there is a lot of useless movie and presidential trivia that interrupts the story and it can be hard to get past it or keep the story straight in your head. I understand the point of it- the idea was to establish a certain pathology for the main character- but I think that there was too much of it which unnecessarily and unfortunately muddled the story line. Additionally, having successfully completed the book despite the trivia, I don't think that it was necessary to go to quite the lengths that they did... I think it was tremendous overkill. I liked the general plot but buyer beware... it's tough to get through at times.
I couldn't get past the first 10 minutes. The voice of the Narrator was very annoying and I could not get into the story.
Normally I am into the book as soon as it starts with James Patterson.
Voice is annoying.
Very poor main Character. Totally all over the place. The plot was poor and not even discernible from the rantings of the main character. I gave up after 3 chapters.
No. It was terrible!!
The person narrating the book was terrible. As soon as he started reading he put me on edge. No acting abity to bring out the characters, although the main character was so bad that the best actor in the world could not have salvaged it.
Never buy another James Patterson book base don this rubbish.
Not worth your time. Both story and performance are weak. Narration was annoying, felt like I was being yelled at most of the time. Story line was so improbable and just plain silly most of the time.
The narrater was so irritating. Not sure which was worse the performance or the written word but both were bad.
The main character was all over the place. I need to care about the characters in a book, it makes the story worth listening to. I didn't care if this guy was the killer or victim, I just wanted him to stop talking.
How scattered the main character was not sure how the performance could be better.
I couldn't finish it. I listened to the first hour and just couldn't go any further.
This is the first James Patterson book I couldn't finish. I read everything he writes and so hard to believe this is the same writer who writes the Michael Bennett books.
