Down to earth real life rags to riches.
entertains, motivates, teaches, and if you apply its principals it can transform your life... I'm on my way.
Let me start off by first telling you that I enjoyed the book. It is your typical underdog hero, rising above his condition and succeeding in this harsh world by sheer force of will and strength of character.
Which is great, don't get me wrong, and some principles described and experienced by the author certainly carry over and are applicable to the rest of us, but 90% of the luck involved, was attributed to God, which is something I have an issue with.
I guess in the end that is my main gripe with the book - God, and the authors relationship with Him, are the main contributors to the success story, while the hard work, the people, the choices, and everything else, were secondary to those and somewhat downplayed.
Loved this book. Didn't know who he was before I read it. Kept coming up as a suggested book to listen to. I'm into motivational content and self development so it was right up my alley. I enjoyed every minute of it. Would like to see him deliver a speech in person. Enjoyed this listen and I think you would too.
This story just makes you realize that no matter who you are and where you come from is not an excuse everyone can make it. life is a journey and you are the person to make it what you wanted to be. This book has made me realize that.
