passionate reader and vegan
Having read Undeniable twice and loving it both times, I was WAY excited to get the audio version. And that's where the excitement ended. This book is a gritty, raw and powerful story of the evolution of love. It is intenese, it is difficult to read sometimes, it is funny, it is sad, it is passionate, it is steamy, it is complex and it is filled with true characters that have a brotherhood. The story of Deuce and Eva is epic, spanning at least 20 years. Love at first sight for Eva (at 5) and Deuce (at 23 who was just captivated by Eva's charm)...nothing perverse just her idolization of him and his seeing a darling little girl. Fast forward several times with each encounter (few and far between) being more and more passionate and powerful. Surrounding Deuce is a cast of characters in the biker club he leads, as well as the knowledge that Deuce is not a footloose and fancy free guy...he is married and has kids. Eva grows up loving Deuce, knowing he is unattainable. The man who also loves Eva with a jealous zeal beyond sanity is Frankie; adopted into Eva's Dad's MC club as a youth with too many demons to successfully resolve. Frankie's descent into madness and violence is chronicled with guts and grit. It is a spectacular BOOK.
The audio version of this book is as much of a disappointment as the book is good. The lackluster narration rarely captures the passion of the book, the intensity of the characters, the taste of the biker culture. As the voice of the male characters, especially Deuce, there is little evidence that these guys are nothing more than less-than-bright neanderthals leaving the listener with a total mis-read of the biker culture and the and intelligence of those who live it
So, this terrific book is denied the read it deserves and that is so very sad. It could have been such a spectacular listen.
Medical professional who loves the escape of Romantic Adventure/suspense fiction and a country life.
Those wishing to learn the alternative misogynistic lifestyle of motorcycle clubs. I hoped for more of a story after the rave reviews.
she is a good smooth reader. Her voice adds to the story, she doesn't try to do too much with the different characters.
I would have asked the author to decide if the 'hero' respects or disrespects women. In many scenes he stands up for them. In many scenes he is the most disgusting pig I've read.
I would have enlarged the story with the affair with the Lawyer and other self destructive relationships like Frankie. More relationship, less sex. This story is all about beauty, and sex.
For a man who takes down people who disrespect women, including his son, the lead character treats the love of his life in the most despicable ways. Consistently. She is the most beautiful doormat. Tired of reading about Beautiful Loyal Doormats.
I love all genres of books. However, when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!
If you are a fan of Jerry Springer type shows you will love this book. A story about "those people", you know the ones I'm talking about. The people that live their dysfunctional lives out loud and with no shame. They wear their baby mama drama and bi-polar mates like the Medal of Honor they earned in a battle. In most cases the lives they lead is a battleground littered with many casualties.
Eva and Deuce are a match made in dysfunctional heaven, biker princess falls for the leader of a rival biker gang that is 18 yrs her senior. They meet when she is 5yrs old, they are both visiting their fathers in prison. When Eva is 16 they will get physical for the first time. You just knew this relationship could go nowhere but down, and it went deep. This book had everything you could imagine negative about a MC, the men were the ultimate DOGS and the women were trashy. And somewhere amongst all the craziness they lived by a code, yes this book was definitely entertaining. Watch out for Frankie that dude was scary, he reminds me of The Joker played by Heath Ledger in the Batman movie. Eva was a product of her environment, a true ride or die chick. If you like Kristen Ashley books you will enjoy Undeniable. The language was salty, and the sex was not as explicit as I like but it was good, and well placed within the story.
I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
I gave this a 4 star review due to the diversity of this book. I haven't come across a love story like this one. I will say it's definately not for everyone. It contain's allot of heartache for Eva and most women wouldn't hold on like her character did. It is interesting and compels you to listen to see what in the world is going to happen next.
First book I've read by this author. I like vex it. Raw and gritty and hard to read at times. There's love, lust, loss, heartbreak, and more love. There's so much of MC life that's hard to understand, especially the women. I loved that Evie and Deuce kept "finding" each other over years and years and finally got their own version of HEA. It was not easy and not pretty, but it's their story and there moments their love shone beautifully despite all that happened around them and to them.
This book is definitely not for the whimps. It is a hard core biker book. Powerful, steamy, rip your heart out good.
Narration was excellent.
If you're into Biker books REAL Biker books I highly recommend this one!
The narrator did an awesome job! I was so happy to see this book was on audible. An incredible story that I've read in ebook and can always listen to in my audible also. Deuce and Eva are such a fantastic couple . Not your conventional love story but so much better!!💜
Starts out with a sweet encounter. Then the rollercoaster ride that is Eva and Deuce's relationship starts and doesn't let you go until the very end.
I was drawn in and the lever to let me off this wild ride didn't lift until after the Epilogue.
I couldn't decide on 3 or 4 stars but decided that the only reason I was giving it 3 was because the incredibly excessive use of "B**ch" It got really annoying for me after a while
I gave it 4 stars because it is an absolute train wreck. It's emotional and a huge web of crazy! And by crazy I mean completely insane shocking, repulsive, crude and completely disturbing. It didn't take me long to finish at all.
not sure if I would recommend this, as it's definitely NOT for everyone. A lot of horrible situation and themes
I am an avid reader, not a professional book reviewer. I gladly offer my opinion of the books I read/listen to.
This book is not a run of the mill MC Novel. This book is the standard by which every MC novel should be written!
This story eventually gets to a HEA .... but only after enduring years of torment, separation, growth and tragedy on both sides. The introduction of Deuce to the little girl who would over the years brighten his world .....Eva is unconventional, but amusing. Sheehan manages to pen a light hearted meeting in the back drop of a dark, hostile world. Both main characters come from the MC world, both having fathers that are Presidents of their respective clubs. Eva understand and embraces club life, Deuce wants to shelter her from that life and through the years they both experience growth, tragedy and forgiveness. Their journey is not for the faint of heart. This story is brutal at times. It was sometimes hard to accept some of the decisions that Eva made and accepted as "normal" and "love", but you are sucked in from the first sentence. Sheehan has a real talent for penning a sentence. Her story and character development stand out beyond all the other main stream MC novels. I highly recommend reading this series if you enjoy reading/listening to stories that go beyond the sexual encounters. The subplots and supporting characters are also engaging! My accolades for this series cannot be expressed highly enough.
It is no secret that Tatiana Sokolov is one of my all time favorite female narrators ...and once again she proves her dramatic talent in this book/series.
This story is worth a credit and most certainly a sale!!
