Medical professional who loves the escape of Romantic Adventure/suspense fiction and a country life.
Those wishing to learn the alternative misogynistic lifestyle of motorcycle clubs. I hoped for more of a story after the rave reviews.
she is a good smooth reader. Her voice adds to the story, she doesn't try to do too much with the different characters.
I would have asked the author to decide if the 'hero' respects or disrespects women. In many scenes he stands up for them. In many scenes he is the most disgusting pig I've read.
I would have enlarged the story with the affair with the Lawyer and other self destructive relationships like Frankie. More relationship, less sex. This story is all about beauty, and sex.
For a man who takes down people who disrespect women, including his son, the lead character treats the love of his life in the most despicable ways. Consistently. She is the most beautiful doormat. Tired of reading about Beautiful Loyal Doormats.
I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
What a raw, gritty, rude, crude, dark, crazy, messed up, wild and compelling fatal attraction that spans over 20 years between Deuce and Eva. Then, as you listen, in helpless fascination, you witness the blossoming of a sweet tender passion and the potential for a deep love be heartlessly, heartbreakingly thrown away, corrupted and is poisoned until all potential for a HEA ending slowly withers and dies.
This is not the usual type of love story but a love story that is shocking, scary, sad and painful and it's full of bruised characters from the seedy side of life who get entwined in revenge, twists, sexual blackmail, violence, danger, kidnapping, lies, deceit, murder, rape and sex with bad language, bad attitudes and some bad outcomes.
But what a captivating, thrilling, awesome plot it is with plenty of sub plots which were all expertly described and written then the skilled narration brought the characters, and events, to life so you're absorbed in all the never-ending pain, suffering, heartbreak and loss which leaves you dazed, spun out but grateful that you endured and survived this riveting train wreck of a love story.
Worth a credit? This listen packs a punch, will have you stunned, shocked and gasping for more as you're eagerly drawn in, held as a willing captive until the very last word..... and you LOVED every torturous minute of it - so YES, another creditworthy listen.
I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
I gave this a 4 star review due to the diversity of this book. I haven't come across a love story like this one. I will say it's definately not for everyone. It contain's allot of heartache for Eva and most women wouldn't hold on like her character did. It is interesting and compels you to listen to see what in the world is going to happen next.
Forbidden, Sexy, and HOT!!
The way it wasn't a typical romance story. There was pain, anger, sorrow, and a whole lot of sexual heat included.
My favorite scene was when Deuce finally came to claim Eva as his old lady.
Isn't like any other romance story I have ever read. Move over 50 shades of Greg. Madeline Sheehan is my new favorite author. I couldn't stop listening to it and was instantly addicted.
I loved this book. I've loved all of them in the series so far. It's definitely not flowers and rainbows. So, if you're looking for that, look elsewhere. Knowing nothing about real MC life, I imagine what happens in this book is much more realistic than flowers and rainbows. Tatiana Sokolov does not disappoint either. Her performance is spot on, but then I would expect nothing less from her. She is one of my favorite performers.
This book portrays real life but when I read romance I don't like to see women called bitch or cunt, etc. Women in this book get so little respect and are treated like trash throughout the story. Yes I understand that can be a real life situation for some but I choose to read MC books where men actually respect their women and are not running after other women with their hard ons at hand. That aside I really enjoyed the book. So it's hard for me to say purchase it since I did not like that huge aspect of the book, but if you are okay with all that belittling women then you may enjoy this book.
Intense, enthralling, repulsive.
I have listened to a few MC books now and this one is by far the best, as it is the most realistic and tackles hard topics such as rape and dysfunctional relationships. In saying this, however, the woman in me cringed every time a woman (the heroine, most often times) was referred to as a bitch. Even when expressing love ("I love you, bitch.") it made my hackles raise and shake my head in disgust. Deuce beat down a bunch of punks for disrespecting women, but he has no respect himself. Towards the end of the book I got a bit sick of the 2 steps forward, 5 steps back and come closer, go away BS that was going on. As much as Eva is portrayed as a strong woman (and it parts I was so damn proud of her), she ate a lot of sh*t from a man who should have been protecting and loving her.
I have listened to another of Tatiana's performances and I have to say she is quite good. She sometimes sounds a bit whiny and ditzy when portraying women, but she is very good at narrating for the men.
I found it hard to stop listening to.
This was a really enjoyable book and I will listen to another of Madeline's books.I don't want to be "that person" but, with every MC "romance" I have read, the deep rooted disrespect for women, really, really pisses me off. The role women have to play to be part of the club - be sexually aggressive and open to please your man, change who you are for your man, cook and clean for your man, keep your mouth shut if your man cheats on you and don't ever, ever open your mouth and speak up if you don't like something. I don't get why women dig this type of romance so much where the woman pretty much gets used up, disrespected and dismissed if she does not accept this sh*tty treatment. JR Ward knows how to make her men sexy, tough and complex but they treat their women like Goddesses and that is real romance!
I can't really say. You know different people, different strokes. If a woman is okay walking in on her boyfriend/lover having sex with other women and it is okay. If a woman is okay having sex with married men, or sleeping with her best friend's husband because she was blackmailed into doing so, and again, that is okay. Yep, or a woman cannot pick the father of her kid out of three men. Then this book is for you.
Nobody I can think of.
All the cheating sex scenes. I want to wash those from my brain. Or the one where Eva walked in on Deuce and another woman having sex, and he threw her out, and she was heavily pregant. Nearly lost the baby.
I cannot believe I bought and read this book.
