Say something about yourself!
Yes but an abridged version might be a better choice. This book drags on and off throughout.
Steele meeting his match.
Yes. Overall fine. He does little to differentiate the characters from book to book.
Maybe - I'd definitely recommend the book. Not sure about the audiobook. Steele's voice is really bad, and he's one of the main characters, so that might prevent me from recommending it.
Hidden Away (KGI #3)
His male voices are HORRIBLE. Females are okay. Rio's is really bad. Steele's voice is completely different as it was in the last novel. It's so bad that it seriously detracts from the overall experience.
maybe if there was another narrator
got the KGI series, and it was good before she changed the narrator
Get the other narrator back, or just trash the last in the series
Why oh why did the voice of Steel sound exactly like a wannabee Clint Eastwood? The narration of Steele's character absolutely ruined this story for me. The narrator sounded like there was something stuck in his throat. I could not even finish listening to this story. I checked the book out from my library instead.
I like Science Fiction, Post Apocalypse, mysteries, and good romance. If you can mix it all in together, I am one happy camper.
The characters were very one dimensional.
No. It's not really a great book.
Well he made Steele sound like he had abused his voice for year. Didn't much like that.
No. I wouldn't watch it.
I thought I would based upon reading the book first, but after listening to the narration by Adam Paul I doubt I will ever listen to this again! I kept thinking he was trying to channel Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry voice and it was grating on my nerves the more I listened so I found it hard to enjoy the story itself!
Maren, because she adapts to situations quickly while retaining her own sense of integrity.
As I stated in the earlier question...his voice for Steele was so irritating that it ruined for me a book that I was really looking forward to on audio!
In the hospital after the crash....when they finally get to see their child.
Please go back to original narrator used for this series....it is really amazing how much a narrator can change the enjoyment of a book just be trying to be the wrong voice for a character!!! I love Maya's books as a whole....and enjoy listening to them as well as reading them! I've listened to some of them multiple times....but this won't be one that I will be doing that with unfortunately!
That said, there is some offensive language, and a bit of over working the sentimental jargon. I some times wonder if authors are paid by the word. Anyway, thankfully she has several other characters that she has to work with in the Kelly Group.
I really liked this book but it was not my favorite of the series. I did not like how things evolved with Maren. It seemed rushed and Steele just changed his personality too fast. Iceman to caring talking man. I just wish Ms Banks had made the change take a more natural course. As always I love Adam Paul who does a great job.
Will do anything for books!
This is a great couple, a great story, huge suspense, huge love story, so much drama!
Avid reader and listener!! Love books! I am usually reading one genre of books and listening to another genre. Best of both!
Just when I think this series can't keep up the momentum and get better, it does!!
Wonderful story of Steele and Maren in the fast paced, plot turning KGI series Maya Banks is known for. Steele must finally face his past and why he is the "man of steel". The characters are brought to life in this book and I just had to keep listening 5 more minutes. And, did I forget to say HOT! HOT! HOT! Well, can't leave that out or would not be a MB novel!
It is it's own story, they are all good and individualized with Maya's creative imagination and story telling!
The narration was the down part of the book. While I am adjusting to a new narrator in the series and finally getting used to Adam Paul's voice, he did a "gravely" persona of Steele, which I felt made Steele sound like an old man instead of "tough".
