If you watch the show Duck Dynasty you know how ridiculous Uncle Si can be, but some of that fun is in his delivery of his joke or quip. That’s what’s lacking in this book. Some of his stories are interested and funny, but without him and his signature tea glass it seems to be missing something.
The narration was good but not much in the way of different voices since it's pretty much told through Si's eyes.
yes as we love to listen to books.
Love to listen to more of his books and one like this one.
Leave out the stories that even a child would find hard to believe like people carrying a truck engine through a lake - under the water...
Should have been Si.
Yes I will. I started this book at 10pm and 4 hours later I finished it. Good solid reading. Family values come thruout. I could relate to so much since I was raised on a farm outside Sweet Home Tx in the 40s and 50s. We had and still have strong family values. Thanks for a great book.
Si. Just because he's a good guy and his wife should be declared a sain r.
Botha good read
It's no wonder that Sy's family adore him. He's a great story teller. He reminds me of my grandfather. What a wonderful family you have.
Not sure if it Jase or Jep reading it, but he is NOT a very good reader. Makes it hard to listen. Only for the stories do I keep listening.
Back into HVACR
Yes its really interesting If your a Si Robertson fan this is a must listen to book.I enjoyed it very much. really enjoyed the last part letters from his wife and kids. He seems like a really decent fellow despite his joking nature
The Nam stories especially the one about Charlie stealing the Engine
I liked when Si talked about his thoughts being his own as long as his wife approved or revised em.
Its on Like Bing Bong Jack!
Si of course
Yes, Jase was a bit difficult to listen to so I listened in shorter spurts than I did Happy Happy Happy. I like Jase but as a good narrator, not so much.
No way could I have done that, best to listen in small does
Great to learn what made Si the man he is. He was much more grounded throughout his life than Phil. The Viet Nam stories were OK but what did it for me the most was the ending where Si told us about his faith. The letters from his darling dear wife was so touching. Also the letters from his kids. I commend Si for keeping his kids and wife off of Duck Dynasty, allows them to maintain their privacy. Si is someone I would love to know in person, what a wonderful man and his silliness and HEY just adds so much to his personality, that all came out in the book. Carry on Si.
The Robertson Clan does a fantastic job of story-telling. May God bless them for sharing with us.
I liked it better because parts of the book were read by the author, which has an accent that adds to the story. I wish Si would have read the whole book.
It is very funny!
