This book did not disappoint!!! This series just keeps getting better. Macrieve and Chloe are great together. Great job Ms. Cole!!!
I've enjoyed this entire series and I've re-listened to all of them. I'm sure I'll re-listen to this one as well. While hugely enjoyable, Macrieve seemed not to have as much nail-biting tension as the previous releases--not as action packed perhaps. I was wondering if the author was distracted by her work on the new Poison Princess series. It's plenty satisfying nevertheless. As usual Robert Petkoff did an outstanding job with narration. He delivers the story exactly as how I'd hear it in my own head if I were actually reading the story. The conclusion was really the introduction to the next book in the series which really does nothing but annoy me because I want instant satisfaction! I want the next book now! Her previous releases wrapped things up more neatly, so I found that a bit disappointing. Kresley Cole sets the standard for paranormal romance. If paranormal romance with lots of action is what you're looking for, you've found the right author.
love listening to books vampire romance books
great story loved the readers as well i wish that all the books were available from audible
so i could have the whole set
Although the Immortals series is a little bit predictive, this is still a fun read/listen. I particularly enjoyed Robert Petkoff's narration. I wasn't sure that I would like it but he did a great job. If you are looking for a book that is just about enjoying the story, this is the book for you. The characters were fun, although Macrieve was a little annoying with his angst.
The book, like it predecessors is a fast-paced, action packed, with hot and steamy love'n fantasy style. However, for me this book was lacking, or, more like it was too much. Kresley Cole's writing is very entertaining and also very formulaic. She is queen of: hero screws up relationship to near point-of-no-return, but in the end overcomes past traumas to win over the fated mate. Which is good, we love the HEA. But there can be only so much trauma and misery, else you just grow to dislike the main characters or stop connecting with them. That is what happened for me with this book. I understand Cole's need to switch things up, hence the relationship starts off too well and collapses shortly after. It was so much of a roller coaster, I started to lose patience with the characters. Also, I do enjoy the lingo and jargon associated with the character's personality, ie. the hipster or surfer, and yet this book was way to much on the sports analogies. I liked it, but I feel Shadow's Claim has been better than Lothaire and Macrieve.
Robert Petkoff rocks this series.
No, usually I do. But this book I had to break it up.
Funny, heartbreaking, exciting
Too many to mention. Kresley Cole did an amazing job from start to finish, and the characters were the most believable and lovable in the whole series in my opinion. Chloe's fierceness had me in stitches many times particularly in face of Macrieve's "brutality" - perfect match! Chloe sending the soccer balls flying into his head and his... - so hilarious!
I often cringe at Robert Petkoff's female voices, but he was excellent this time as Chloe!
Macrieve's story is a heartbreaking one and when he finally opened up to Chloe... I was very moved.
Didn't read the print version but I can zone out much better with headphones and my kindle then if I am just reading a book when family happens to be around it's a better and a greater way to listen intently.
Macrieve of course than his brother very good flow there in the conversations.
I loved the fact that the voice was very husky and old world just like it should have been he did a fantastic job!
Hmmm well when I first started reading it I thought oh same ole stuff but as I listened more the turn in it was great and caught my attention. The biggest reaction I had was wishing she had the next story already and wishing I could get all her previous of the Immortals on Audible.
Great story I am never disappointed by her books. I have yet to read one that I do not like great job....write faster LOL
Kresley Cole delivers again! I had this book on my pre-order list for a while, and I was not disappointed. I was completely hooked on the characters and the book, and I could not stop listening!
Ullieam (or Will), the hero, is a super hot Lykae warrior who has a tragic and heartbreaking history full of pain (emotionally and physically). You really feel for him and his family. Will has a super hot identical twin brother - I can't wait to hear his story! Despite Will's horrible past, he is still strong, hot, caring, charming - delicious!
Chole, the heronie, is a really cool, kick-ass, strong little soccer player who is half Succubus, but does not know of her immortal blood. She discovers that her father is one of the most evil men in the Lore. Will hates her father, and he planned to use Chole to get revenge, but Will discovers that Chole is his mate. There relationship seemed doomed, but they really developed a bond and worked to get over their past.
The sex in this book is steaming hot, so be prepared!
Robert Petkoff, the narrator, is awesome!!!!! He really brings the characters to life and his accents are amazing!
This is one of the best books I've listened to in while!
Not sure what to say really. I love listening to audio books. :)
Robert Petkoff...my my my I think I'm in LUST!! LOL Petkoff pulls off the hot and raspy Scottish accent for the title character like no one's business
Macrieve DEFINITELY Macrieve
Absolutely! Robert Petkoff does an amazing job with Macrieve's accent bringing a whole new light to the book.
This is as amazing as all of his other books that I've listened too!
I'm totally in love with the immortals after dark series. This book isn't my favorite in the series but its still really good! This is worth the read.
