Maxwell Hale, perhaps the most interesting character in the series has returned, accompanied by the Reaver-lord, Cairax Murrain. I was getting quite fed up of the Stealth & St George show, so Hale was a very welcome change of pace. I actually enjoyed his back story more than I did the central narrative.
There is also a brand new character thrown into the mix and her introduction chapter is nothing short of amazing.
Together these two characters make the book something really special for me - I've read it at least 3 times already. I'm impressed that Clines has managed to keep this trope running for so long while keeping each book fresh.
I do recommend.
if your hoping the story continues with smashing and huge battles you might be disappointed. it picks up in the middle of the book still a great series to listen to while at work. on to book 4!..review you later.
Loved it, as usual for this series. The connection to the other books is very nice. Some favorite moments were Madeline's story arc, meeting Karen, and how they took down the big bad this time. the narrators did well this time but there felt like some streamlining of some voices this time around; Berry just doesn't sound the same in this book as the last book, and there is not too much difference between Daniel (Cerberus) and Stealth. However, I wholly enjoyed the book.

Zombies, superheroes, an evil invincible demon! What's not to love!
However- I read this one out of sequence with #4. It didn't matter to the story much, but now I'm totally out of Ex-Heroes to listen to!
Moving on to some of Cline's other works- maybe "The Fold"!!!
Comic book heroes, zombies, magic, and demons... how could you go wrong with this combination?
Ii would like to see great characters dealing with the world around them vs. making really stupid unbelievable decisions that put them in the shite.

Peter Clines has taken the zombie genre to another level. A lot of tongue in cheek humor. Just listen and enjoy.
