No, I'm a fan of the Sophie Katz series and thought that I would enjoy this one. It was just okay to me. It was predictable.
It was too long. The story could have been told in half of the time.. Either more plot twists or shorten the story.
The narrator was decent. I would probably look for more books done by her.
No, it took a couple of days.
While I wouldn't return the book, I was just a little disappointed but not enough that I won't listen to another Kyra Davis book.
Yes I would but not without careful consideration.
I have on the Inside Out series and she is ok as a narrator, but on this book her voice was really annoying!
I really really tried to get into this book and enjoy it but by the 2nd phase I was so annoyed and frustrated that, I just couldn't take it anymore I had the need to SLAP somebody! The entire story line had real potential but after each setup and move, it just got further and further away from a good story line. Some of the stuff I felt was just a filler and I saw a little growth for Kasie but I truly wish the 3rd phase would have been more growth for the couple but no it was filled with unnecessary drama. Some may like this but this was not it for me.
Books books books
I was so mad that she kept taking every bodies crap. Most of all what she experienced with her fiancé really pissed me off.
I know a lot of books these days have the women in the role of needing help from some big strong man, but at the same time I suppose that's the fantasy. I say that because as I listen......my mind does wonder what if I had a powerful rich man who could sex me up and give me anything I ask for, who is in control of everything therefor I'd have to do nothing. Then the book is over and I'm just me living the life I lead and think about how it would piss me off if someone were trying to dictate to me what I can or couldn't do, so I repeat its just a fantasy
Bad, melodrama, confusing, dry and incomplete story line. Main character was a very sorry person. 11 plus hours I felt empty and had a headache. Will not look at this author again.
Your mileage may vary
This is just an awful book. I listened for an hour and a half and I didn't care at all about any of the characters and nothing interesting had happened. It was unthinkable to consider wasting more hours of my life on this book. I've read all the Sophie Katz books and they're laugh out loud funny, and this book was written either very early in her career (when she hadn't developed any of her talent) or during a deep depression in winter in northern Alaska.
I refuse to judge the narrator for her inability to make this book interesting, so I've given her the middle rating to remain neutral.
I really liked the story, however I would appreciated that the characters spoke more to each other, verses casy speaking mainly to herself. Too much "self" dialogue. I also would of appreciated POV from Robert. Otherwise it was a great story line. I really loved the readers as well
The story was a good one. Loved the struggle, the characters, the entire concept. Worth listening to but beware you have to have patience for this one. The author is very, I mean very descriptive. Which is good at first to help you visualize and understand how the main character thinks. But half way into the book it gets to be too much in her head. Found myself fast forwarding a few times through scenes that took place in her head. Would have loved for the author to spend that time and words letting us to get to know more about Robert. She never really peeled the layers back on Robert. His character was not developed as much as it should have been. Dual POV would have make this a five star. I have the story, the concept a 5star, but overall due to the long fantasies and lack of really getting to know Robert a 3star for overall. Narration is great. It is worth the credit and good listen.
Love Grace Grant but she couldn't make me care for the characters. This may be a story other like but it's not for me.
