I love all genres of books. However, when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!
I purchased this book based on the reviews and wasn't disappointed. Ethan and Brynne were unforgettable, the story was intriguing, the romance was good, old-fashioned loving (while still on the hot side). The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the serialized feel to it. The book was too short and I feel should have been combined with book 2. Having said that I am totally captivated by the story and listening to book 2 now. The sex scenes are really hot and the narration is fantastic.
I was so bored with this, I returned it. I wasn't even going to bother with a review, but I feel like there are too many people - obviously - who don't like to be negative and so all you get are fawning reviews from the easily impressed. I mean, that's my best guess.
I liked Fifty Shades, but this wanna-be, copy-cat really lacked the depth, character development and plot that Fifty had - and since the latter wasn't exactly great literature, that's saying a lot.
It was weak when the heroine's impression and inner dialogue told me that the "hero" was "dominate" before she had a real reason to think so. I guess we were just supposed to know from all the other similarities to Fifty...
There seem to be so many knockoffs of popular books... and I, like others, go looking for for another compelling read in the same vein, but all too often are disappointed.
The story overall is so and so, as I had expected. But the narration is very very bad. Especially the male voices were the worst. The main male character's voice sounded like a cave man!
A very short story of three hours only. It seems like they broke a 9 hr. story to three and six just to make the set into a trilogy. The story does not have anything special to offer or any special twists and turns but overall an ok listen. I bought the trilogy set at the same time because of listener ratings and now not quite sure if that was a good idea. R Miller tries to create a story similar to 50 Shades in the hopes of winning readers. Similarities start with both girls posing in pix for a photo gallery. Next, lead female characters from both books are students and to complete this parallelism they both have very wealthy good-looking guys fall for them harder than they do for their men. Lastly, the female characters are both from single parent families and are closer to their dads. Hope the second book does not continue in the shadows of 50 Shades.
Hot romance/Sci Fi we're so lucky to have Audible to feed our book addictions. I love walking my precious dog Sydney & listening to my books
WOW, this book is So very capturing. It Gras you from the start and doesn't let you go Then it leaves you rushing Greedily to listen to the next book in this Perfect series. Thanks Raine Miller for writing such a wonderful story that it has left me wanting - I WAN'T SO MUCH MORE OF THIS STORY that i am straight onto book 2 :)
Yes, Shane East's voice makes it
Yes, but since I didn't I listened to it more than once
Added Naked to my library and so loved the series that after each book got the next one (free credit or not). Wonderful story...great narrators...highly recommend.
It was way too rushed for me with poor character development. Even if it is a series this first book did not have enough substance. If an author wants to entice readers to continue then you need to care enough about the characters to want to know more. Too bad
I am a sucker for characters like this. Girl with scarred past - Passionate overprotective man who loves her, wants to help her... etc. This is very similar to Crossfire.
I should have paid attention to the fact that this book is not even 4 hours long... I was startled when it ended (in the very predictable spot - same as crossfire, same as 50 shades).
