This has been my absolute favorite book so far!
Where do I begin? The humor, the excellent character development, the end! No spoiler here but kudos on that hot twist...Evanovich really got me on that one!
I love Nick' s easy going attitude and how it complements Kate's uptight edginess.
I really enjoyed the whole drug Lord act. I laughed hysterically and everyone at work thought I was nuts laughing to myself! Nick' s escape from custody was great too.
When oh when does the next book come out and I can totally see this as a movie...Kate Hudson and Matthew Mcconaughey!
Very enjoyable, can't wait till their next book in this series. Great characters that were funny and believable. Lots of twist and turns in the plot that kept me guessing. If you are a Janet Evanovich , pick this one up for a listen.
This has got to be the biggest disappointment I bought this book about an 30 minutes ago all excited about a new Janet Series. Wow I listened to the first 15 minutes of this and could barley follow the story because I couldn't get over the male voice trying to read a story that was so obviously written as a female story. Now don't get me wrong I am sure he is just fine to listen to with a book that was meant for an older male to read. I have been a member since 2007 and this is the first time I have written a review, Certainly am going to miss the 20.00 dollars I spent for this. Maybe I will give the actual book a try and get his voice out of it.
Say something about yourself!
I've only just started listening to this book. I quite enjoy the Stephanie Plum books, so i thought i would enjoy this also.
It's hard for me to pay attention to this book so far. I can't relate the story being told from a female perspective, and being voiced by a man. It doesn't make sense to me, and I feel a huge disconnect when i try and get into the book. It's difficult to get passed this for me.
This book is about a woman, it should be voiced by a woman. His voice seems very bland and dry, there is not much to engage the listener.
I am only in chapter 2. I will re-update this if i make it further in the book and/or change my opinion.
Say something about yourself!
The way got their "Gang" together. Love the way all of the gang interacted.
Little know actor play playhouses in the Midwest.
The set up on The Heist where the drug lord just goes off and tells several stories.
I was disappoint in the FBI, if I would have been give the same choice I would have quit. This was very disturbing to me. Think of your own morals, then you violate them, not a good situations.
I generally don't like books where you take an antihero and then make them the good guy. Not sure if I'll follow the series or not thinking this is what wrong with our society.
The storyline and narrator's performance. I laughed out loud more than once, which isn't typical.
I don't want to give it away, but it involves El Pollo Loco.
Sometimes a male doesn't seem to be able to capture a female character's personality, but Scott did. I never found myself rolling my eyes at the way he brought any of the characters to life, including the females. (Same is true for female narrators, by the way. I am an equal opportunity complainer.) :)
Fall in love with a con man, get played, and come back for more.
Can't wait for more books in the series!!! And keep Scott as the narrator, please!
Nice little enjoyable story. It moves fast and the characters are very likable. There is Janet’s clever humor and lightness sprinkled throughout the book and none of the slapstick humor of her Stephanie Plum series. For those of you who are …. shall we say older, you may remember the Remington Steele TV show that started Pierce Bronson, well this is a bit like that. My only regret is that there wasn’t more detail at times it almost felt like an abridged version of the story. I look forward to future books in the series, but hope they have more depth and/or detail - less abridged feeling.
This was a great start to a new series. Hopefully a series. Great chemistry between the main characters.
Very much looking forward to the next one in the series. In some ways, this has potential to be even better than the Stephanie Plum series.
The story was great but the performance almost put me to sleep.
Anyone but this narrator. He read much too slow.
It was a fun book. A totally different character from Stephanie Plum but just as much fun.
