So Hunted is pretty much more of the same as what you've read in The Iron Druid tale thus far and that's ok because most of it has been pretty great but.....This story was kind of losing its luster for me. Its shining a bit more brightly after reading Hunted though. What's really different about Hunted is the increase in perspective on behalf of Granuaile. It's also very annoying. She's not my favorite character and I don't mind her part in the story. I just really don't want to hear from her and in Hunted we hear from her a lot. I will say there is excitement throughout and a sad little twist as a key character seemingly says goodbye. All in all a pretty good lead in to what I think will be the final installment. That I am looking forward to because it should be a great finish.
The deal of the day is awesome! Sci-Fi, Fantasy, historical fiction, mystery, thrillers with sarcasm are my favorites.
This is definitely one of my favorite series. It is a great mix of humor, mythology from all over the world, sarcasm, friendship, loyalty, action, and the little things in life that make it worth living, PLUS a truly entertaining pooch.
I was in absolute shock shortly after the book began & held my breath with fingers & toes crossed that I missed something. WHEW! Kevin Hearne had me scared for a few there.
I love how the Druids are the one of reason & wisdom trying to guide their various Gods into evolving emotionally. Sadly the Gods inability to stop, look, think & reason reminded me of many of my former bosses. I want to work for the Druids instead.
I, like Oberon, am pacing the floor anxiously awaiting the next book.
lots of action, as gods go to war against each other, well executed by both the narrator and the author. creating one remarkable action filled, hilarious book of this series as Oberon and Atticus keeps you laughing, crying and rooting for them all the way threw the story
A must read for this summers genre
it's a good story but the ending just wasn't there,.it's like reading 1/2 a book, now I'm shore when his next book comes out he will finish the story line .sorry i like cliff hangers but not when you have to wait a year or longer. now don't yell at me i did give it 4 stars
I wish u could comment on other peoples comments, add a new dimension on what people write, some reviews deserve more than a 'yes or no'
I've read all of the Iron Druid books & although they are interesting & worth a credit I cannot believe the comparison to Dresden by some critics.. The complexity & character development is so much better (relative to 5 of Butchers 1st even just 1 book), the storyline is incredibly more rich than the descriptions Hearne uses & he goes over much less of the 'magical world'. Even if his books were longer it would still be too predictable for me.. I think even the Mercy Thompson or Rachel Morgan are better
One small Part of it is his sword for example... Cuts thru anything & a 'truth detector?' It doesn't classify any of Atticus adventures as mystery fantasy. And Atticus hasn't 'grown' in the thousands of years he's been alive, perhaps after this length u really can't but I think every character is dynamic, enuff bashing, too much negativity, I obv don't hold series's in high regard
The books are entertaining light reads, Oberon is the best character & he's a funny dog, but storyline is all the same, X person wants Atticus dead for a reason taking a couple paragraphs to explain, everyone comes & his sword does 80% of work. I pre-ordered the book cuz I believe it Could be fun read but is satisfactory at best... I wait on of Dresden books like the first few HH Martin books or Sandersons, not even butcher can compare I'm relating the anticipation for 'Skin Game'
I give Atticus a bit of a yawn but & in 'over-hyped' category, not near Butchers level or others in same genre.
I love this series and even have bought the books for my husband to read (for some reason he doesn't want to listen to a book). This series gets more complicated and adds new characters with every new book that is produces. It also seem that the danger level is going up as Atticus approached Ragnarork, which makes sense, right!?
For a tiny second I actually thought Atticus may have really bit the dust in this book, but then common sense came into focus. You can't have the main character die, right?? You better listen, Kevin. You better not kill off Atticus, or more importantly Oberon! I was concerned that Oberon wouldn't recover from going mad and have to be killed and was actually distraught at the thought!
Another fine story from Kevin Hearne!! Someone important DIES!! Not telling who but your going to be in shock!!
Profesionl, hard working woman who travels weekly, enjoys life. My best Friends are Michael and Scooter. Nonfiction books are the best!
I feel like I know them all.
Oberon, i love dogs any way and he is scarcastic
Dont have one, they are all good
No. Luke Daniels brings all these books to life. I would listen to anything he narrates!!
Little slower to get into then the other books but the book didn't disapoint me.
top of the line. Great job goes to Kevin and Luke
you will want to slap kevin
Best reader ever!!!!!!!
Hurry up with the next 3!!!!
Books have been my whole life. I worked in Libraries & for Borders & 1/2 price books for over 10 years & I now study fiction writing.
Other than Atticus....Oberon. How can you not love the observations Oberon makes.
I think the most memorable part of Hunted was when Atticus was being lifted out of the earth after he healed himself. I had such a great visual.
Oberon. In previous books Leif had been a close second but the character of Leif sound much different.
I practically did listen to it all in one sitting.
