Unique perspective on "purpose' driven decision making. Brings up points that help listeners reflect upon themselves and condition themselves to make more meaningful life decisions.
Just jump and the net will appear.
The book gets straight to the point and continuously brings in new concepts. Good pace, great advice.
Yes. The author is very engaging. I enjoyed this book. There were some corny moments but overall it was very good and entertaining.
I find Mr. Acuff's stories and examples rather compelling. This is all good advice, laid out in an easy-to-digest format. (I also liked the fact that he did not shove his Christianity down the reader's throat like his boss Dave Ramsey does.) I liked it so much I listened to it twice in a row.
If the author gave better insight and understanding into the human condition and psychological workings. The book seemed like wild speculation.
Done some research instead of writing a book based on feelings and wild speculation.
No. This is the only Acuff book I've listened to.
Disappointment and frustration.
I agree with another reviewer that said that if you're impressed by this book you're probably new to the genre of business/self help books.
No, because Iv'e already done the steps he's encouraging people to take. I quit my job years ago and am successfully conducting my own business and making more money.
didn't get there.
Gone below the surface.
People who are looking to step out from average and have not yet begun those steps.
The author is genuine. This is not hype. It's actually a reminder of things we know but forget, ignore or drown out with negative self talk. Here is someone who has walked the walk and shows the journey in an engaging way. He's a wonderful storyteller. I listened to the book realizing that the prize in life goes to those who can continue to press forward and re-imagine the possibilities when the path we're on turns out to be something we no longer want to be on. I gifted copies to all three of my 20-something children. Adopting Jon Acuff's worldview earlier rather than later will greatly improve the quality of their daily lives.
Some where in the middle.
The authors sense of humor gets a little annoying after awhile.
Yes, it did.
I am fortunate to have a visual job which allows me to take in audiobooks as I work, which basically just means that I get to plough through quite a few of them.
Everyone knows how overpopulated the 'self-empowerment' category is and how it accommodates a great deal of pithy drivel without any actual substance to it. I'm just keen to flag this book as a genuinely worthy 'read' - actually, I would highly recommend the audiobook version due to the humour and energy that Jon infuses into his own material here.
If you're looking to get your head in the right place to win in life, give this a try.
Discovering, Entertaining, Influential
I enjoyed hearing it narriated by the author, it brought it to life and hearing expression and emotion made it personal.
All of it.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is feeling uninspired by life and who wants a kick in the pants. Thank you Jon for taking the time to inspire and share.
Motivating Book. I needed this at this juncture in my life!
Not so much a moment but the concept when you keep your day job you are able to wait for the dream job as you acquire skills and network.
