Motivational, Fun, Accessible
Jon Acuff is an AMAZING speaker and this is one of the best audiobook narrations I've ever heard. I imagine the book is great in print as well, but the way Jon tells stories is very engaging. Nothing about his speaking voice is dull.
I've read dozens of self-development books and this one is definitely at the top of the list (my other fav's would be How to Win Friends and Influence Others and Unstuff Your Life). There was not a single dull moment in this book, and even though it is directed at any age group, I feel like it is especially accessible and inspiring for younger people (20s, 30s). I wish I had read this book years ago! (if it had existed... which it didn't)
Book nerd for life!
It was narrated by the author and he was passionate about the book.
Same as the book
I needed an audiobook that wasn't boring and that would keep my interest. This definitely was it. I was procrastinating reading/listening to this book, and it was everything and more. Loved the enthusiasm (can't beat hearing the author narrate the book), lots of good stories and motivation and tips. I now want to read more of Jon's books. I'm officially punching fear in the face and starting!
Jon is hilarious in a dry, sarcastic kind of way. His book is educational, inspiring and entertaining. He also includes attainable and reasonable action steps.
Especially if paired with another speaker Hal Elrod.. I even feel lighter and happier after listening the Start!!!
I am forever grateful and hoping one day to help others as much as John does!
I needed a jolt to help me feel more confident to jump into launching out as a full time business owner. Totally got that and more from this book. Thanks, Jon Acuff for keeping it real and giving us such awesome insight! I'm ready to find my awesome :)
The material in this book so spoke to my condition that I bought the hardback so I can re-read it as a textbook. Tonight I will begin to re-read it and follow the in-text assignments as they are printed. Thank you, Jon, for this in-my-face look at me, and most importantly, what I can do today to change for the better.
Read it. Filled with uncanny insight into your fears and inner thoughts, Jon knows how you feel and think and addresses each objection you may have to becoming awesome.
I enjoyed this audiobook because john sounds enthusiastic and passionate. His context is both relatable and precise as he drives the reader through a series of stories that makes the topics more relatable. I would recommend this audiobook to anyone at any point in their journey to becoming awesome.
