I must say, it's not very often that I'm rendered as not being a very pleased listener for what I'm sure should be a good story, especially a trilogy. I anticipated that this trilogy would have been really good, considering it followed "Release Me", which was in and of itself a pretty good book.
However, I was completely disappointed. Not only with the narration, but also with the story line. It was just. Too. Much. All those erotic scenes did not have to be so excessive. In addition, the story line could have been done better. There was no need to have it all drawn out drama. The point was made abundantly clear about the type of person both Damien and Nikki are. So, the extent to which the story went made it past the border of unnecessary extreme.
This trilogy is compared to The Crossfire Series and The Fifty Shades Trilogy, and that aspects of both comes out in this trilogy. I do agree on that platform. There are features from both that comes out in the trilogy. But, that's as far as it goes. The Stark Trilogy is not in the same league as The Crossfire Series and The Fifty Shades Trilogy. Not by a small margin either.
Claim Me had a lot of similar traits to Fifty Shades but it not Fifty Shades The first book out of the series was THE BEST!!!!!! . If you are in to exotic novels this one is a good bet.
The meeting of Mr Stark, a retired tennis tennis
Player, now an Entrapenuer. Remembered the beauty queen...he wanted her in a nude painting, and her. He pays a million dollars. She accepts as she want the money to start her own business. She has a deep secret.....something that would reveal a very painful past . Stark surprises all of us with his reaction...hard to put down. The mystery begins slowly as Stark has a scandalous past comes into scences. Gossip, and trashy newspapers add to the drama.
This book left me ready for the next in the trilogy, I couldn't wait to start the next
Only in these books they preformed good
When Sylvia shows Nikki pics of Damien and her as child the abuse they suffer, yet in the end it works out
Same as in my other review's, some of the sex word's could have been a little more discrete,
This in an excellent second installment in the stark series. I was glad to have already purchased the next book because this one left me wanting more right away. As always Sofia Willingham's narration was flawless, so full of emotion and really kept me enthralled in the story. I am in love with Damian!!... but love Nikki as well, great characters and a great story. All the romance, sex and intrigue helps too!!
I like the first one better but this one was so hard to listen too. she is in love with what his name again, he a lots of money and power and she as sex. I like sex but writer just make it hard to see or feel.
HATE spoilers! Enjoy HOT, sexy books. No vampires, paranormal, teens 4 me. Running out this type Audible-so on2 lighter romance/mystery :-(
This is a continuation of Release Me - The Stark Trilogy. If you enjoy the billionaire meets beauty and follow the journey of extravagance, intimacy and drama - this is for you. (Oh yeah, great sex too.)
For Damien, our obsession is a game. For me, it is fiercely, blindingly, real.
Damien Stark’s need is palpable - his need for pleasure, his need for control, his need for me. Beautiful and brilliant yet tortured at his core, he is in every way my match.
I have agreed to be his alone, and now I want him to be fully mine. I want us to possess each other beyond the sweetest edge of our ecstasy, into the deepest desires of our souls. To let the fire that burns between us consume us both.
But there are dark places within Damien that not even our wildest passion can touch. I yearn to know his secrets, yearn for him to surrender to me as I have surrendered to him. But our troubled pasts will either bind us close...or shatter us completely.
Finding out Damion's TWO secrets... who knew? No spoilers from me - but I will tell you that you'll understand what makes him tick.
No, I don't have 'extreme reactions'. This is compared to 50 Shades which I haven't read-so I'm not helpful in that. However, it IS similar to the Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day or Breathless Trilogy by Maya Banks
I found myself drifting through parts of Book #1 Release Me, Book #2 Claim Me kept my interest throughout and I cannot wait to finish this series with Book #3 Complete Me.
NOTE: Contains adult themes and strong language.
I didn't like the narrator in the first book but the book was good so I pushed past it. Somehow she's worse in this book and I can't seem to get past it this time. Either the story is worse or she is, not sure maybe both.
Love Romantic Erotica with a twist , thrill, suspense and a great story !
I think the whole mystery ...secret...of Damian drags on abit too long. We know the Nikki story from book one ...but come on !!! Get on with it !! However, still like their story, and their hot hot electricity between them ...wow ! Expect the explicit sex ! By the end though ....OMG ...the end ....so where is book 3 ????? Come on , hurry it up !
I can't wait for the third book. I loved the first book and loved this one also. I started reading this series b/c it was recommended for 50 shade lovers...and that is so true.
