I really enjoyed all the characters in this book. Intriguing story and now I am just awaiting the next in the series. Very atmospheric book...I felt that I was there. The characters are so real and I didn't want to leave them when the story was finished.
Great charcters from JK, there will be more to come I'm sure.
Nice pace of story telling.
Robert Glenister is excellent.
Entertaining, gripping, fun
I liked both leads.
No. His narration was perfect.
Yes! I kept finding all sorts of excuses to start listening (I have never cleaned and ironed so much!). Haven't had so much fun reading a book in a long time.
I'm so glad JK wrote this after her bad one, The Casual Vacancy (couldn't get past chapter 3). This is a modern mystery with characters I could totally believe are real. I hope there's another in the works.
I wouldn't try another in this mystery series. Will I keep trying J.K. Rowling in the hope of another Harry Potter, definitely
The ending. The book built beautifully, lots of intrigue and wondering but the end answer just didn't live up to it. It seemed somehow illogical to me.
He did do brilliant accents and voices, you knew character from character. The swearing is more intrusive in an audible book though and there is A LOT of swearing.
The explicit language really tainted my view of this book. I was forgiving it until the end of the story was so unsatisfactory. The writing is eloquent and it's a swift and absorbing read though.
I haven't read the print version so cannot comment.
The surprise ending
This is the first time I have listened to Robert Glenister but will look out for future performances.
Engaging, clever, well written
the plot flowed well
Fantastic! Really Great
Quite a few
A great listen for you mystery buffs
when I heard this was written by JK Rowling I went off the idea of reading it but decided to persevere which I'm glad I did, The characters were great and multidimensional. The story line was full of twists and turns. The reader was also excellent. well worth a listen.
The realistic and contemporary storyline, which was entertaining and suspenseful right to the last chapter. The narrator was brilliant.
Any number of contemporary detective stories in the genre, however Comoran Strike is a less conventional central character which makes it unique.
A fantastic narrative which brings alive all of the individual characters, giving them texture and dimensions which can't be achieved when you read.
The relationships are real, and motivations are more believable as a result of Mr Glenister's skill and talented performance.
The name is entirely appropriate.
I really enjoyed this audiobook, and look forward to more adventures with Cormoran Strike and Robyn.
Photographer's Moll, Chicken breeder, school administrator and owned by four dogs. Busy life, Happy life!
A bit slow to start but well worth the wait. Characters are well portrayed and story was interesting though a little predictable. Ended leaving me wanting a sequel. Well worth a credit
