By the 3rd Joe Ledger book I felt Maberry was loosing a bit of steam....but he has redeemed himself with Extinction Machine. Great action and the story moves along quickly. Does not get bogged down in Joe feeling sorry for himself. That's what had turned me off from the last few books. Ray Porter is great yet again!!
Don't miss this one, action, suspense with twists and turns. Never dull, always moving.
At the lighthouse and at the castle. I don't want to give it away. I wish I could hear it for the first time again!
Ray Porter IS joe ledger. His voice inflections are dynamite, you really get wrapped into the book because of his talent in the narration. I always check out a book when I see he is the narrator.
If we only knew
I have nothing new to say that hasn't been covered in notes on earlier books in this series. Just update them for new plot themes and additional characters and Maberry's wild and wacky, no holds barred imagination and they are all of a similar (great) quality.
No, this note is intended to say again that narrator Ray Porter is by far the best I have come across in what I have listened to to date (and I have a library of 200+ digital books). Every character is set apart in every book, by voice, by accent, by tone and definition Porter brings each character - every single character, no matter how insignificant - to life.
I am at the point that I will listen to books, regardless of author, genre or topic, because Ray Porter is the narrator.
Who'da thunk it. I'm a fanboy.
LOVE the books! I have to start there, but on that note I must say that I was disappointed at one part of the story. This isn't really a spoiler because I'm not going to go into detail.
Soooo Joe pulls off another great feat and bitch slaps the rich bad guy around, but Joe gets captured. That's OK! He should get trapped from time to time.
OK, we all know that Joe is a hired killer, so why would the bad guy not tie Joe up and/or shoot him? Instead; Mr. 'pistol whipped' Bad Guy decides to tell Joe his entire diabolical plan before he does away with the "big bad" Joe Ledger.
In my opinion; the Author took the easy way out when it came to connecting the remaining dots to this book. It doesn't change the fact that I loved the book and would read it again, Joe ROCKS! On to book 6. :-)
Harry Turtledove fan
As always Jonathan stuns and amazes the readers.
Shock and Awe in true Jonathan style.
The only author I listen to as part of a series is Larry Correia.
All audiobooks? Gah! That's not fair. Okay. Right up there in the top 1% for two reasons - Jonathan Maberry and Ray Porter.
Again, REALLY? Okay. Don't make me choose between Church, Joe, Bunny and Top. Just don't make me. Who do I hate? VP Bill Collins. He can't go down soon enough.
Everything. Literally. Drama. Suspense. Humor. Everything.
Yeah, but it would be a teaser and that's not fair. Let's just said it was the last couple minutes of the book.
LOVE English Bulldogs, Nelson Demille, Patricia Cornwell and just reading in general!
Not really. This book just seemed to drag on and it really wasn't very interesting. I've actually fast forwarded through a lot of it.
No, I just think this one was very disappointing.
Ray Porter IS awesome. The voices he does are spot on from book to book. You always know the character without him having to point out who it is.
Joe Ledger books should continue.
Exciting, Thrilling, gripping
All the way though, i wasnt disappointed
I wont make a film out of it, Its to good as a book things get lost
The best download i have ever downloaded...
