beautifully painted with vivid smells, colours and love. Cleverly woven stories, knitting together towards the end. Enhanced by the authors reading.
I rarely find a book that leaves me with such a feeling of melocoly. This was a wonderfully told story of family, kinship, and loss but still hope for the future. This is a fantastic story.
The author is a wonderful storyteller and I enjoyed the narration as well. I enjoyed this book as much as Hosseini's previous two books. His writing is so poetic and he is masterful at drawing you into each story that is told in this book. Truly enjoyable.
Writers that can bring cultures and histories of faraway places alive are few and far between. This writer brings alive the culture and history of Afghanistan through a series of individual stories that tie together in a beautiful way.
My only complaint is rather my own limited mind. The stories are wonderfully told. I just wish I had known that this novel is actually about several different stories that cross sect only so briefly however so deeply. I am anxious to re-read it know that I understand it. His illustrations are so vivid and moving.
