This story had an interesting premise, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the first. Without giving away too much, I had a hard time believing everyone would just forgive the betrayal like they did. I also thought Bowen and Genevieve were way too sappy. And particularly in the first half of the book, there was too much time spent rehashing book one as well as on Genevieve's internal dialogue. In other words, it got repetitive. Overall, I still enjoyed the story but I'd say it was average.
I do hope they put book 3 on Audible.
Audio books are just my cup of tea!
What's not to love, Highlanders, a great story, and a wonderful narrator! The first book was also great! I would recommend listening in order. The characters and stories are very believable.
It was packed full of action, romance and drama. I was swept in and floated along for the emotional ride. Couldn't stop listening until the end.
A great read, hot and INTERESTING
It is great is all I can say. I truly enjoyed this one as it is my first Maya Banks and I shall read more of hers.
She makes every character come to life. Great Reader
Hot and Steamy
Make sure you start reading Maya Banks for interesting love life!
I am a busy sports mom listening to romance only. If the narrator is good and it has a decent plot, I will find it enjoyable.
This one series ranks high in my book. The main character was treated horribly, but was very strong.
When she leaves. Don't want to say more to give it away.
Wild about books.
There are twist and turns and a great plot. Finally it is known who the mystery lady was. This is her story. If you like strong ladies this is your book. And what a great hero that finds her. I like the fact you don't have to have the first book or the next. Each one will stand on its own. There is murder, hate, love and a happy ever after. Along with some hot love going on.
Kristen Potter is always the best at telling the story. So use your creidt or spend your money either way its worth it.
Say something about yourself!
This is the second book in the series and I am definitely not disappointed. Genevieve McInnes and Bowen Montgomery brother of Graeme Montgomer fall in love even though Genevieve was kept captive by at McHughs land and rape repeated. All the women in this series so far is not perfect Evenly Graeme wife from book one is deaf and in book two Genevieve has a scare on her face yet they both find love.
Kristen Potter is one of my favorite narrator every time I listen to a book she reads I feel like I am right there witnessing whats going on.
This is a great continuation of the series to the Montgomery and Armstrongs. If you haven't listened to the 1st book, I highly recommend it before listening to this one. You'll get a better background of the characters. So as this series contines on, we find an imprisoned lass from the evil Ian McHugh who is rescued from a lifetime of sin by Bowen Montgomery. She is ashamed of herself that Ian imprisioned her for a year and was taken advantage of. She's assured in her mind that her future lies in living in a convent for the rest of her life and that no one would want a lass that has a bad reputation. But low and behold, Bowen comes into the McHugh keep and stirs things up. You're left with a fairy tale ending and a good highland love story. Definately worth the credit if you enjoyed the first book...I can't wait for more stories to come. Good author and narrator.
Maya Banks hits another home run with Highlander Most Wanted, the sequel to Never Seduce a Scot. This story picks up seamlessly from book 1 when Bowen Montgomery and others come to the McHugh keep. The interaction between the characters is deep, giving you the feeling that you know these people. The story is about overcoming obstacles, the will to survive and love. I am surprised at how quickly I can get lost in these books and am dying of anticipation for book three.
Kirsten Potter gives an emotional performance adding another dimension to the story. She does excellent with men and women's voices alike. She speeds up narration during the intense moments increasing the feeling of urgency. There is a great amount of feeling in her voice throughout the entire performance. The book is great on its own, but it becomes exceptional with Kirsten's narration.
Maya you out did yourself. I think I ran through every possible emotion while listening to this story. Yes, I did cry. Thank you, I loved this book. I cannot wait for the next book.
