Right up there with all the rest of the BDB books. I have listen to them all and have lost sleep with every single one of them. There is no good place to say " Okay, I'll stop here and pick back up tomorrow".
Love each and every one of the characters, can't pick a favorite.
He just brings it to life. I think the voice he has given Wrath is just downright sexy. I'm certainly happy that he has narrated the entire series. Really throws me off when they change narrators after several book. I have a hard time getting through that book or being able to recommend it.
The characters have been fleshed out so well that you can't help but get involved emotionally. Cry for Zsadist or Tohrment and Wellsie and the unborn young. Laugh at Butch and Vishous going on about the SOX. Root for Blay, that he finally gets what he wants and Qhuinn to man-up before it's too late.
I know "The King" is coming out in April 2014. I seriously hope this will not be the last. I loved the way each book was written to spotlight a different brother while still having enough of the rest in to keep the whole story going, but I'm worried we've covered them all and this will be the last installment. Maybe this one will introduce some new characters we just have to know.
I would and have recommended this series to friends. It deserves to be on the big screens I love it so much
The narrator did an excellent job. in previous books I loved his take on Quinn and Blay and I was not disappointed when they became the focus of the story.
I listened to this book in one sitting and promptly went to the beginning to start again. I hardly got any sleep.
I liked this but it has so many threads of plot going that every time I started really getting interested I got jerked in another direction. She's always done this to some extent but this was worse than most. I like a lot going on but I expect some of those lines to merge at some point and give me more and they never did. There were many plot lines I liked, the romance between Qhuinn and Blay, the attraction between Sailess and the thief....those and other numerous plots were great but there was too much left undone. Drove me crazy.
yes, but this one jumped around to much, hard to keep up with the storyline.
would have been nice to kinda know the premise earlier on...seems to take forever to get to the point of the book, other than its about Quinn.
Loving my life and hanging out with my four grandchildren!
I rank the J. R. Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood series as some of the best audio books you can own! I love each and every story in the series and can't wait to hear what happens next! I would rank these books at the top of my list for "re-listen"!
It is so hard to pick just one character as my favorite, but if I really have to choose it would be King Wrath! In each and every book he has been a powerful, strong, driving force to the brothers. But if you really get into the books, you will find yourself pulling for each and every brother in the series. Even the supporting characters find a place in your heart.
Always Wrath! His voice seems to come to life when he reads as the king.
I have to admit. I didn't know how I would feel listening to the love scenes between two men. Ms. Ward did an excellent job with all the love scenes, and I found myself wanting these two, ( Qhuinn & Blaylock), to get together. The other part that got to me was when Layla goes out to the meadow and Xcor comes to see her. I am hoping he can somehow get out of the wrong side of life and get together with Layla.
If you buy these books, start from the first book and work your way through. They are well worth the price and will not disappoint you in any way!
I appreciate how J.R. Ward incorporated new characters and they all have a meaning and a part to add to the story line in a way that makes sense. I can't wait to find out what happens with Asale and Sola! What happens to Luke, and Leila, Trez and Selena! I really hope there is a book 12 and that is comes out soon!
Live To Read!!!
Since reading the book, I have listened to it 3 times! Growth is growth and love is love. For me this story has it all. Admittedly, I was somewhat apprehensive about guy on guy action, but all of that is second or maybe third to the story. Ward does a great job of making you want to see these two come together.
The best about this story is how Ward weaves the main story with the inter mingling's of the stories of the others. She has a way of keeping you informed that life is happening around the main character story.
I like Jim Frangione's performance. For me, his voice seems well suited for this series.
Ward makes you laugh and cry and cheer. A miracle happens and a strong love blooms.
While you can understand the book without reading the entire series. . . its oh so much better to read the series from the beginning. It allows you to grow with the brotherhood as they grow and evolve.
Love reading! Always have, glad my friend turn me on to audible. Love romance and mystery books
Wish there was a follow up book, just to follow up on all the characters. I think another one is coming out. These vampires are hot!
When it comes to books, I don't think fiction always as to be fiction, especially in the grip of a gifted writer.
I don't think I have the words. There isn't another series out that truly compares to this one. It's an epic saga dream for the paranormal fan … and it really is EPIC! This edition (book 11) was worth every one of the seconds I watched the clock tick down until it was available. I'm sure I would have paid twice as much. Blay and Qhuinn FINALLY! If you had to stop and read this before hitting download, you my friend are going to need a plan! I suggest… count your money, get a full nights rest, then download book 1. You might as well be prepared to glue your ear buds in. I advise you to pace yourself, because you will not want it to end…. even eleven books later.
By the time I got to the 11th book in this series it felt like all the Brothers were good friends and my emotional attachments to them made this one of the most enjoyable book in the series.
I'm going to go with the obvious, Quinn. Especially because he save the life of my favorite Brother.
He did the whole series and I think he was an excellent choice. He, like the author, keep it pretty consistent.
First time in all my life I ever got hot over a male on male sex scene. Maybe it is because this love affair had been building for several books. Truthfully all the books in this series made me laugh and cry.
Such a great series and so well written. The writing style is fresh and different for this genre, she has a real solid point of view and every character is super cool. You know I can't say that every series that I have read, by whoever, continually puts out a good product after 11 books but I can surely say this about The Black Dagger Brotherhood. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
