people with nothing else to read.
speed it up.
not interesting to listen to.
disappointment that I wasted a credit on it.
A love story wrapped in old crime paper told by a whiny over-dramatizing voice.
cut out the many "love-sick" cliche's and added some new and interesting twists and turns.
The story is predictable and far to long.
A big disappointment and waste of a credit.
Harlan Coben can do so much better.
Harlan Coben books are usually much better. There were too many scenes where the lead character wants 100 units of information from somebody and the reader immediately realizes he'll only get 30 units. However, it takes 30 minutes for this to scene to play out.
It could have been a good short story
even the best swing and miss sometimes
I would definitely try another book by Harlan Coben. I have been spellbound by some of his other works, and even pre-ordered this book. Harlan Coben and Scott Brick? I thought without a doubt this book would carry me through my exercise regimen and my commute to work, making an hour sweating or driving feel like mere minutes. But this one was not worth spending a credit on, I am sorry to say.
I am presently listening to DARK PLACES
I often will search for books read by Scott Brick. I thought he was great in both THE PASSAGE and THE TWELVE. In this reading, Scott Brick's character came across as pitiable and pitiful.
Generally speaking, I am one of Audible's biggest fans. When there is a heavenly marriage of author and reader, there is nothing better. Thank you for bringing books to life. I am also impressed with Audible's new policy - if the consumer gets the choice wrong, the credit is returned. Doing this makes me even more impressed - and even more loyal.
Speaker, Coach, Author - in Reno, NV (A GREAT place!) I've been an avid Audible fan for several years. Listen on my iPhone many hours each week.
I'm a HUGE Harlan Coben fan so I buy all of his books. This one, narrated fabulously by Scott Brick, will definitely hold your interest. Plenty of it is far-fetched, but that's OK. It's fiction.
I always look forward to reading Harlan Coben’s books and this one was no exception. The twists and turns throughout his novels make them worthy reading material, but I thought this one wasn’t up to his normal standards. Yes, it grabs the reader’s attention, but it started dragging about halfway through and continued for some time. The beginning and endings were great, but I knew what the ending was going to be before I got there. Sure hope his next book is much better because normally I love his books.
I am rarely seen without my headphones on and my iPod clipped on my waist. I love my books.
Interesting concept that kept me guessing. I always try to solve the mystery. The more difficult the mystery the more that I like it. I love Scott Brick's narration. I will buy a book just because he narrated it, even if the author is unfamiliar to me.
The roller coaster ride !!!!
The unexpected plot.Do not read this before bed.Because you will be doing "Just one mor page till the end.
The people came alive.I know I will see them on the street or share coffee .
You wanted to slap Jake Fisher ,hug him and slap him again.
I am the Evil Mama
This was the first novel I've listened to from Harlan Coben and I enjoyed it thoroughly! I will no doubt download many more. I especially loved the ending!
Fine plot but I was ready to wring Jake's neck by the end. How many times can one man's heart explode/stop/crumble/shatter/etc., for Pete's sake!! This is the first book I have ever listened to on "2x" because I was interested enough in the plot to want to get to the end...as soon as possible!
On the whole, I prefer the Myron Bolitar series to anything else Mr. Coben has written.
