I can't figure Harlan Coben out. His last book I tried was excellent. This book seemed like hours of fill with no logical story. Then there is Scott Brick. I think Mr. Brick was absent from class when they taught the difference between periods and exclamations. Read the book as written. When you see "she walked into the room.", do not read it as
"She, walked into, the room!" Every sentence does not require you indicating drama. I told myself to ignore any book with Scott Brick but I wanted to try the Coben book. I returned the book to Audible. It was a painful listen and a story lacking any realism.
Second only to Gone Girl at least. This guy was so selfish and unlikeable. The story isn't bad but I found myself rooting for the mobsters.
Great story - had to be to make me finish this one. I did not care for narration. I think he was too dramatic in his inflection. But my opinion only.
Everything works in This story: the love obscession gives good motivation and decorate the story; the character are well developed; the rhythm allows hooks the reader and allows him to understand the story as well . Scott Bricks acted very well too.
Loved it. Clear and easy to understand the story. suspense, suspense and more suspense. Wanted to keep listening had to force myself to stop.
It was a story I wanted to get through w/out stopping, but it was so hard to listen to the narrator... he's slow and his voice is way to mature for the character. It's hard to imagine a character that's in his 30's when the voice sounds like it's 60.....
Great story - wish I would've read it in lieu of listening just because the narrator is not good. He should only narrate books where the character is 'older' or it's a documentary or something. If the story itself wouldn't have been so good, I would have not finished it. I'm missing out on some of my favorite authors because I cannot listen to Scott Brick - if he's narrating, I'm not listening.
Country Livin' Lady
I loved the many angles the story line took. A great listen. When I can't figure it all out too much before it's revealed it's a plus. Scott Brick is one of my favorite readers too. A+
A great read that keeps your interest.
ScottBrick does a masterful job of keeping up the suspense. You can guess the outcome but have to listen to know if you are correct.
Well worth the listening.
I like long story's that hold my attention. I found it difficult to press the pause button for even a few minutes. I love Scott Brick narration, it's through searching for his works that I found this book. I'm a new Harlan Conan fan!
I absolutely love this book. Every time I thought I had it clear in my mind about why Natalie left. I was wrong. I absolutely enjoyed the ride of this book :-) I would be definitely reading more from this Author
