This seemed to be a throwaway
He didn't have much to work with
I jwould have started over
This book was strange. I thought I liked it at times, but it was so not believable that it was hard to take in overall. I guess it was an okay read and performance, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Not among my top 10 favorites.
Nothing was as it seemed. A little hard to believe you would still pining for someone you haven't dated for 6 years.
Yes - many. He is a good reader
Interesting once you got into it, but a little unbelievable.
This was my first Harlan Coben book. I'm not a mystery/suspense reader normally, but I loved the "Twilight Zone" feel to the book as the book progresses. I even teared up a little at the end. Even before I'd reached the halfway point, I'd already purchased three more of his books.
As a mystery it's not bad.
I got tired of the hero's continuing proclamations of LOVE. I really do like the narrator. I have heard him before and, except for the lovey-dovey ("I cannot live my life without her; I would rather die...") that sounds more like a heaving bosom paperback, the narrator is good. You may want to wait for a sale - or try the library.
This story had great potential. I kept reading/listening hoping that there would be great revelation - but it never came. There was not enough character development - and not a strong enough plot. I was taken along what started out as a very intriguing path - only to be left disappointed. Throughout the book you are drawn into some deep, dark, secret - but when the secret is finally revealed - it doesn't seem plausible, and it didn't warrant all the mystery surrounding it. I felt like the big secret was not an interesting or original enough reason for all the secretiveness surrounding it.
The narration was great - Scott Brick is one of my favorites.
A completely different book
Back to really reliable writers and readers who have fuled he more than 300 boks to which I have listened.
I have listened to a number of great books read by Scott brick, who is very good. How he allowed him self to be associated with this stinker is a bigger mystery than the patheitvc mystery presented by this miserable book. The fact that he was the reader ws the man thng that prompted me to give this book a try.
The enitre book should be trashed. It lacks a single mature sentence or thought. It has no redeeemiing qualities at all. Why the publisher decided to put this godawful piece of junk into print is hard to understand, given all the good writing being done. And having decided to put this thing into print, the publisher apparently declined to assign any editor at all, alhtough as one who is an editor I doubt even the very best editor could have made anything of this book.
This was given a good review on the Audible home age, an unfortunate hit to its credibility.
Oddly, and while I just hated this book, I actually listened to the whole thing because I was drawn to finishing it in the same way one's eye is drawn to a serious car crash or a plane crash. It is a truly awful book, so poorly written as to be in its own way remarkable.
I did not enjoy anything about this book.
No. I really like mysteries. I like most of this author's books. Would not recommend this book, however.
I'm not sure that I would listen to another book by this narrator.
Pretty much all of them.
I really disliked the characters in this book.
I am a readaholic! I will read anything - cereal boxes, etc. if there is nothing available. I have a long drive to work and back and listen to books every day.
This was a great story from beginning to end. The mystery grows and grows and you try to decide what will happen in the end. Terrific book.
people with nothing else to read.
speed it up.
not interesting to listen to.
disappointment that I wasted a credit on it.
