I really liked that the author took us back through the different characters that I thought I knew. Not really a twist but it was a little surprising. Definitely like it, might be getting a touch old since I've been through Book1 to Book3 (almost done) all at once. If there is a book 4 I might have to wait a little while before starting it but..... I'm looking for it now
If you've gotten this far, you're probably already hooked on this series. This book follows 'The Desert Spear' and is a solid addition to the first two books. It has some great plot twists. Definitely leaves you wanting to know what happens next (which is probably the point).
All in all, totally worth your time.
Pete Bradbury is masterful at story telling. Just by sound alone you can tell when he's voicing a Cutter, the deliverer, a woman, a peasant, or anyone. There lies its own genius. Peter V. Brett delivers again with ups and downs, twists and turns, and suspense up to the very end. You don't know whether to hate Arlan or love him, hate the Krasians, or sympathize with them. It is a perfect story about the not so clear cut line between good and evil. All while giving us someone to really hate; the demons. I love this series. And I'm so glad these are the guys telling us the story.
Third book done and still wanting more. The orator is incredible, his ability to pronounce the names so musically is astounding.
The only reason I didn't give the "story" section of this review 5 stars is because some parts seem to drag on and on and on and on. That is only my personal opinion. I like a little faster pace in a story. However the author does an amazing job in his descriptions. If you are a fan of very detailed writing then this issue will not bother you. I absolutely love this series. I recommend this entire series to anyone. Now I will finish this review so I can download the next book. ;-).
writing near the end gets weaker and seems rushed. book starts great though. i liked the background on major characters
