Have a Boomerang Millenial Daughter. We like her, she likes us so, nice to have her back. Both my Husband and I are Proud USN Veterans.
I read the reviews before listening to it. I ended up fast forwarding a lot. To me it was a lot of sex, with a wee bit of story. I'm not a prude when it comes to sex but neither do I want to listen to a book that is all about sex, which is the reason I never bought 50 shades of anything. There were a couple of funny parts but those were few and far between. Plus the sex had no imagination to it. Bottom line, very boring.
Lots of sex from the get go. I never really felt like I understood what motivated each character (other than the physical), so I never really felt invested in their intimacy. I kept waiting for an explanation of the male character's hateful behavior, but it never really came together convincingly for me. He was mostly just a jerk. Late in the book I felt like we started to get to know both characters better; I just wished the author had spent some time developing that aspect earlier in the book. For the amount of sex, they were pretty conventional about it. The taboo came from engaging in intimate activities in socially unacceptable locations, i.e., his office, his parent's bathroom, etc. The narrator did a solid job. The story is told from each characters' first person perspective. Occasionally, when the author was speaking from the male perspective, she'd fail to deepen her voice enough and I'd lose track of which character's thoughts I was listening to--mostly that was my fault for not paying enough attention. Nevertheless, she did a very good job with bringing the characters to life. Overall, it was mildly entertaining and kinda cute. I won't listen to another book from this author, but I'm not disappointed that I purchased this one either. Sometimes lots of sex and little story is just the thing, so if that's what you're in the mood for...go for it!
I was torn as to how to rate this one. I both liked and disliked it. Personally I enjoy angst-filled stories so this met that criteria for me. The love-hate relationship between Bennett and Chloe was off the charts! However, I really did not like it starting right off the bat with sex scenes in Chapter 1. I prefer the story to develop somewhat before it gets into that. All in all, it was an entertaining listen but just not enough for me to give it a higher rating.
My taste vary. I love a good, blood stained horror, but also a well written kids story. Lots of Sci-Fi, but also Hist. Fiction. No boring!!!
Gentlemen, I hope you get down the list far enough to see this. You may notice that all the five star reviews are from women. That is because this is only borderline erotica. This is Romance or shall we say Lustmance.
Okay, I like a girl who buys power panties. I do worry about a guy who collects them though. Most of the 20 chapters have a sexual encounter in them and the sex is hot at times. If you like different places, I believe they had sex in about four places, before they made it to a bed. The first part of the book is I hate you, but your hot, so go ahead and rip my panties and do what you want with me. The middle of the book is, what about my career, I should not be doing this, I will not do it again, but your so hot, okay bend me over. The last half is warm and fuzzy sex. They claim they love each other, but they don't want to get married, they don't want to move in to together they just want to be F buddies.
I CRAVED HER LIKE A DRUG
This guy is so giving in the end. When her dad is sick and may be dying of cancer, he shows his love by offering to do some muff diving. Hell, how can she turn that down, it sure shows he cares.
Audible has this down as sex and erotica, but I notice the sequel is considered a romance.
As far as having sex with a woman you think is a bitch, we don't care. I mean that is what she is needs anyway, I'm I right guys. All women just need orgasms and we men are usually not that picky, but I thought it was different the other way around.
All of the characters sound the same, male or female. They should have had two different narrators.
This is a three star book for guys and a five star sex book for women.
I have NO time to read so Audible is perfect! I listen while commuting and even at the gym. My interests vary from month to month.
I was a Grey s fan but was bored by the time book two ended then I couldn't get past 20 pages of book three. This book series is a similar style but I love it so much more. Bennett and Chloe are great. I cant get enough of this couple. I want more and more and more!
I have 3 kids that occupy all the TV's in the house...enough said...addicted to audiobook ....shhhh don't tell my husband ;-)
This book is entertaining but 2 people that hate each other constantly coming together for a sparring of angry sex is kind of a bit weird, but what would have upped the performance is having a dual narrator. This book is divided into her point of view and his point of view chapters and I think they should have brought a male for that. The book is a naughty boss/ worker relationship with a lot of hate sex on the side. Its a interesting listen and I would say its credit worthy.
I like the story line. The interaction of he 2 leads. There's no holding back. The conversation is very brazen.
The male voice - Bennett Ryan needs work. The narrator is awful. At least, she should try to sound like a male when reading male part. Very disappoint.
I read this book when it was The Office. I was excited for this book to officially release. I am disappointed of the narrator.
Give me a Hot Sexy Book, with a good story to listen to, have that "OH MY" sigh, Love most of what I have, but want more. Tell me it ALL!
It's up there with one of my top 5 books I have listened to. I have laughed at these two, Bennett and Chloe through the entire book. And boy do they know how to pour on the Hot SEX. I did have problems with figuring out who was talking. Was it her or him. But you get the point. TRUST ME.
When they finally got away and discovered what they were really all about.
The dressing room scene
Jesus on a cracker..
By far one of my top 5's sexy love story's. These two really knew how to pour it on and then they turn around and hate one another in a second. I laughed so hard in between the love scenes, but then again, you knew it was only gong to be a good sex scene coming if they started. They did know how to push each other's limits. On everything. On the reader, she read fast, and I would have to run it back a couple of times and it was hard to know if it was him or her doing the talking. but it was a good listen book.. I would buy and use credit for this.. you can't go wrong. Ladies.. you love these sexy love story's.. Here is one of the good ones.
I love all genres of books. However, when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!
Oh my... Chloe and Bennett... a couple clearly walking that thin line between love and hate or perhaps I should say "lust" and hate. Whew, what a steamy ride this book was and so very entertaining. If you're looking for a large order of sexual tension then pour yourself a glass of wine, cozy up on the couch and dive into this steamy little story. I have to say that I was surprised at how much I really liked Bennett by the end. I went into the book clearly ready to toss him under a bus (via the title). But, despite all of the name calling, pantie ripping and animalistic behavior... this did end up being for me a really intense and fun love story. Love born through hate... now how can that not be romantic!
