Boss-subordinate relationship turns steamy, then they fall in love. Typical angst, hot office sex. The f-bomb is distracting and detracts from the story at times. But, really, who amongst hasn't shared this fantasy at one time or another?
I love to read and listen to books. I teach and share my love with my teenager and I'd like to share that love with you.
Pretty Woman-esque spiced up & hotter. Gracie Grant was fabulous. She portrayed a young, yet no nonsense Chloe confident in herself & her place in the business world. Her Bennett was HOT. Dickish, commanding & sultry.
Civil War Nut LH
It had steamy sex, but it wasn't gratuitous. It blended with the storyline to advance the plot. The chemistry between H/h was off the charts!
Yes. I hated when I had to be a grown-up and do the things I should do instead of listening to this book!
The narrator was new to me, too. For the most part, she did a good job of changing voices when the POV changed. I like her voice and wouldn't hesitate to buy another book she's narrating.
I got this book on sale and I'm glad I took the chance. Will definitely follow up with the other books in the series.
I love Romance and Urban Fantasy
1. no millionaire / billionaire
Bennett and his family are well off and yeah they might be in the millionaire neighbor or at least their marketing company is but it never comes up. And I was grateful for it.
2. no torched hero / heroine
Neither Chloe or Bennett has a torched childhood or a f’d up romantic pass. Nothing wrong with that kind of troupe but I liked that it wasn’t present here.
3. real life angst
The angst between Chloe and Bennett was plan and simple. He was her boss and she was afraid that people in the business would see her in a negative light if their relationship got out.
All three of these reasons were very refreshing. You get all the sexy times with less drama and a real romance between real people.
Grace Grant did a great job with Chloe and a pretty good job with the male voices. She truly performed the story, not just reading it. She made me feel the emotions of the characters while I listened.
Steamy moments every chapter and still a decent plot. Even with the lingerie bill and easy access wardrobe, I was able to suspend disbelief (mostly).
"Fifty Shades of Grey" However, I thought Beautiful Bastard to be more mutual. Has all the fun without all the crazy toys.
My favorite part is him going to dinner at his parents. Only to have his neice see right through all his bastardly attitude. You know at that point. He has another side to him.
